Another Ob-Xa Issue

Everything's going great until.. The top voice boards start to become horribly distorted. Autotune becomes useless. Somebody help me. Is this likely an OTA issue, or something more?

Re: Oberheim OB-Xa Lower Board Issue

Well, it turns out the problem was from a bad voice card. I took out the problematic voice card, and the other three on the lower motherboard started behaving like normal. Now I just have to figure out what is going on with this last voice card, and the Oberheim will be just about 100% healthy..

Oberheim OB-Xa Lower Board Issue

Hey everybody, I have an Ob-Xa that isn't behaving just right. The bottom voice cards (1-4) do not respond to filter tracking, sync, or f-env controls. The pins the voice cards sit on have completely wrong voltages for these controls. Sync actually puts out a negative voltage rather than +15, and tr...

OB-Xa Tracking Issue

I recently acquired a broke down OB-Xa, and have been bringing it back from the dead. After a power supply rebuild and replacing a few dead parts it has been mostly working. The lower voice cards were not working, but their respective LEDs were lighting up properly. I found it to be the CEM3360 VCA ...

Re: Juno-106 problem

Yeah don't poke around yourself, then the tech can actually blame you and want nothing to do with it. However, he COULD be really nice guy and work together with you. Not all techs act that way, trust me. ^trust him, I would. :) the solder "burn spots" are likely from the desoldering wick. should c...

Re: Juno-106 problem

The display you're seeing indicates that the 106 is booting up in test mode. That means it's sensing that the KEY TRANSPOSE button is being held down. First, check to make sure that button isn't stuck. If that's not the case, then the tech may have done some damage to the board that has resulted in...

Re: Juno-106 problem

Thanks for your reply! I hope that's all it is.. But I've looked at it since and I think it looks like a very sloppy job. Maybe some burned spots on the PCB and not so hot looking soldering. There's not many techs around here though :( The cables would be numbered right? I'll look into this (I'm sli...

Juno-106 problem

My Juno is having a problem. I just had the noise slider replaced and now, it doesn't work properly. Upon powering up, the 2nd dash on the manual mode screen drops down to the lower section of the display. Does anybody have even an idea what might be happening here? Most of the other buttons are not...

Help with a Six Trak

I recently bought a Sequential Circuits Six Trak, and it's having some problems. When powered on, the lights light up in a random pattern that changes every time, none of the buttons respond, and it makes no noise. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
