Re: Synthrestore ZV-10
I wouldn't say £475 is necessarily overpriced for a 3 osc, 3 octave keyboard (did I read that right?) synth but it depends on how deep the modulation matrix is.

Re: Crumar Trilogy - Dead Preset
Thanks, but it turned out to be something else. See those little blue things? Those are mini switch banks that control the square wave and sawtooth input for each preset. At some point in time both had been switched off so nothing was playing. http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah313/FartsMckenzie/...

Crumar Trilogy - Dead Preset
Preset 8 makes no sound. Personally, I couldn't care less but I thinking about selling it soon and I want everything working 100%. I just can't seem to get a handle on it. The logic signal seems fine (111). I've replaced every one of the 4051 multiplexors and dual op-amps on the preset board (one fa...

I don't think you have to fork out for audio grade caps really.

Re: Replacing the ungodly plywood on my JX-3P.
Who cares about the base? It's just going to bashed around and scratched to buggery anyway.
Just repaint it.
Just repaint it.

Vert, very cool. That is a shit-tonne of functionality in one case. I'm seriously tempted but I'm a not a preorder kind of guy so I'll be interested to hear some third-party reviews when the time comes.

Re: ARP Omni 2 sustain (release) problem on all sections
Are these linked to the string section? Indirectly. The reason why I asked is that since both the synth & string release is acting up I suspect there's still a fault with the foot pedal release or the suppression trigger - pulse drive & adsr blanking rely on these to work properly. You could try ch...

Re: ARP Omni 2 sustain (release) problem on all sections
Try checking if the the 'pulse drive' and 'ADSR Blanking' circuits working as they should. The pulse drive resets the envelope every time a new key is played (unless the single trigger switch is on). The ADSR Blanking stops the ADSR resetting when the sustain pedal is released. The easiest way to ch...

Re: ARP Omni 2 sustain (release) problem on all sections
You see those little metal-can transistors Q28 & Q29? Check those - one of them failed in my omni leading to similarly odd release behavior. Luckily they're both just bog standard 2n2907 PNPs.

Re: Juno 106 power supply problem
Feel free to send the bill for the regulator to me.
I mean, I won't pay it but you can always send it.
But seriously, probs should have said to replace the caps first. The ESR of those old electrolytics gets worse with age and could be messing with the reference voltage.

I'd replace the M5230L regulator and see how things go from there.

Irritating Omni Problem
Playing this thing again I noticed an annoying little fault that I just can't seem to solve. It affects key 12 (B3) through to key 20 (G4). After I release one of these keys the note very slightly retriggers a second or so later (even if no actual 'instrument' is on). I'm pretty sure it's an issue w...
