Re: Future Retro FR 512

Looks cool! I love the touch-plate keys on the Music Easel, but could never justify the $4000 USD pricetag. Maybe I'll get one of these, close my eyes, and pretend I'm Alessandro Cortini. :o

I have no idea what synth was used for the brass sound, but this is a slick song! Gonna go listen to some Hardcastle now. Thanks!

Re: AKAI AX-73

I have an AKAI AX-80. Not the same model, but it must be very similar. It's a bit of a pain to program, but it does have a uniquely cold, barren sound that sets it apart from other analog polyphonics in my opinion. It's the complete opposite of the Juno series, and I love that. Actually the AX-80 h...

Re: do any of you jam with other synth guys?

commodorejohn, my roomate and I are both from Duluth. I don't think we've ever met, but I think he bought a DW-8000 off you a while back. Anyway, yes, here in the Twin Cities there is a well-established electronic music/synthesizer enthusiast community, and most of us are well-acquainted. We get tog...

Re: AN1x - Amazing!

I have been interested in the AN-1X for a few years now, though I have never seen one in person. I own a JP-8000 and love the sound, but it definitely has a "comfort zone", or to be specific: it sounds good if you stay within a certain sweet-spot, but if you try to push it to its limits (fast LFO mo...

Re: Prophet 6

I can't think of anything negative to say! The internet is imploding. Aside from all the naysayers around here posting things like "blah blah blah we will never see another affordable analog poly with VCOs ever ever again, blah blah blah, I know everything because my buddy is friends with a g...

Re: Edgar Froese 1944 - 2015

Tangerine Dream was never among my favorites, but it is always disheartening to hear of the passing of an influential electronic artist. Rest in peace, Edgar.

A keyboard version of the Mono Lancet would be awesome!

Re: NAMM 2014 thread of broken dreams

Since we're already in a different part of the galaxy as far as sticking to the subject goes, I'm curious: what kind of beer are you expanding your gut with, Marc? Same goes for all of you: what's your favorite beer? Or, if you can't decide, top three? I know microbrews are regional for the most par...

Re: Roland Gaia SH-01

In my opinion the Gaia sounds like plastic. Like when you leave a water sitting in a cheap plastic bottle in the sun and then you come back and some of the plastic has dissolved into the water and you try to have a drink but all you can taste is the plastic. That's how it sounds. Of course, if ther...

Re: Behringer to make analog polysynths !

That would be bloody hilarious if Behringer came out with an analog poly before moog  Maybe Moog wants to let them. You know, Behringer lets a POS out into the Multiverse, and then Moog steps in a year or so later and says "No, this is actually how you build a synthesizer. Amateurs!". I feel c...

Re: Arturia miniBrute microBrute and miniLab price drops

They're probably trying to move some boxes in the warehouse in preparation for a new synthesizer to be announced at NAMM! Let's go Polybrute! 2 osc 2 VCF maxibrute instead please. :D Are there not enough monophonics currently in production? Is there something you're looking for that cannot be achie...
