Re: Looking for a budget 'fragile' sounding synth

]Still these Analog-Modeling ones still have some character of their own, and sound less clinical compared to some of the other digital ones. Personally I've found it's the opposite as far as sounding clinical goes, my Miniak has a much colder sound than my TX81Z for example. I haven't checked it a...

Re: Which JX to complement Alpha Juno?

A 3P would be a pretty good compliment to an Alpha, it's much more aggressive sound is a nice contrast to the Alpha's politeness. And while I haven't played the AJ-2, the 3P's keyboard is MUCH nicer than the Juno-1's is. I know the 2 is supposed to have a better keyboard than the Juno-1, but still, ...

Re: Makeshift Vocoder?

Are you after an analog vocoder or will any vocoder do? You can pick up a Zoom Studio 1204 which has a pretty useful vocoder on it off eBay for around $40.

Re: buying a Blofeld Desktop synth. a good idea?

Is this a solid enough reasoning to buy this synth? The only reasoning you need is the thought in your head that you want one. :D But yeah, from my limited experiences with them, a Blofeld will hit all your points and definitely sound different than your hardware. I've never heard one side by side ...

Re: JX 3P Stuck note problem?

IC12 is noticeably hotter than ICs 9-11 + 45, 46

Everything up to then was done, checked and the problem is still there.

either a RM1X or one of the Electribes? Or maybe a Command Station. All of these should be fairly cheap.

Re: EMW-200

There's something strange about this company. They keep launching new stuff but there's no apparent way to actually buy anything they've put out, if you look at their website it's just descriptions with no purchase options. I guess you have to contact them directly to get one?

here's a recording of the problem, from 1-5 seconds you'll hear the modulation I was talking about, and then when a key is pressed.

Re: JX 3P Stuck note problem?

Plugging a cable into the hold jack does not seem to help. It seems to be one voice at a time. The first key you play will be super loud and the others will play muted. After several key presses it will trigger another loud sustained note and start over. The problem is not consistent with any partic...

JX 3P Stuck note problem?

So I've had this JX3P for about a month now with no problems. Suddenly today I turn it on (after it being fine yesterday) and notice that it seems to be ALWAYS playing a note. Not from first startup really (it makes a weird sound at startup, almost like an lfo modulating something?) but as soon as y...

Re: New Studiologic Sledge Polyphonic Synthesizer

Knobs are all well and good, but I agree with Sir Ruff, I can't see trading all of the programming options of the Blofeld just for a few extra knobs...especially not if it's more expensive than the Blofeld KB is in the first place. BCRs are cheap and give you plenty of knobs. Also worth noting a NAM...

Re: New Studiologic Sledge Polyphonic Synthesizer

I'm not sure I get the point of this synth, with the Blofeld keyboard out there who really needs this one? Unless it's priced super cheaply. I think I'd still go with the Blofeld over this though.

Re: Waldorf Pulse 2

Wow, I kinda ignored this when I was perusing the news from NAMM - got caught up in the Minibrute stuff. I'm actually a lot more excited about this now. If they manage to price this well like they did with Blofeld, I reckon this will be a real killer. A price quote online said 599 USD. Not sure if ...
