That is a cool article and nice music too! I'll be keeping it in mind when I fire up my 800 later. :)

Re: The Poly 800 Appreciation Thread

Love my 800. Wouldn't want to ever have to use it as my main board or anything, but it's such a fun little synth and it's capable of some really unique sounds once you figure out some of it's quirks. The break point and slope aspects of the envelopes alone are worth the price of entry I think. I'd r...

Re: Is the VZ1 bad because its a Casio?

Funny, I was just thinking about how I'd like to have a VZ-10M earlier today after selling my CZ-1000 recently. I certainly enjoyed having the CZ, I just didn't use it enough to justify the space for the keyboard in my cramped living situation. I know they're not really the same, but it'd be nice to...

Re: Anyone have the real Korg-Polysix?!

Polysixes don't have midi. You'd not only have to find someone with a Polysix, but someone who's got one retrofitted for midi.

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

This week-end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ME2LDQfvKUg That was a great video, thank you for sharing. I wonder if that will make some of the people claiming it is only good for harsh sounds quiet. So glad I have mine pre-ordered :) Agreed, fantastic video. This is exactly what's been lacking in ...

Re: Thoughts on the Alpha Juno?

Very interesting. Of course judging by those specs alone a Juno 60 and a JX3P should be practically indistinguishable from each other, which hasn't been my experience either. Sure they can sound close if you want them to, but there's something different there, and it isn't the 3P's extra osc! It rea...

Re: Thoughts on the Alpha Juno?

Had one for a while, sold it on not that long ago. I quite liked it's sound, but found it far too polite to really fit into my music. Used the money to buy a JX 3P which fits the bill much better for me. If I didn't already have an 8P I'd have probably kept it for the pads alone. How do the Alpha a...

I'm amazed at how ugly that is. Looks like the bottom of a golf-shoe or something.

Re: New Moog apparently...

My salesman at Novamusik said that the store was shocked when they saw the pricepoint on the Minitaur. I told him that Moog was beating Korg to the punch, to which he said "You are more right than you may know". He would not specify. Uh oh, possibly juicy! Kinda makes me think that full Mono-whatev...

Curious about this too, if this can handle leads in addition to those basslines then I'm definitely down for one.

Re: more Korg analog - Monotron Duo & Monotron Delay

I hate to thread necro, but can't use the monotron with aux send/return on your mixer to apply the filter to multiple sources? That sounds like really stupid question, but if that's the case like I think it is, then why wouldn't you have one? It just seems like a cheap and useful tool at that point...

Re: EMW? anybody using them yet?

The wcs-1 looks fun and sounds nice. I think $240 is a pretty good deal. If there was an external in on the filter, I'd be sold. CV-out on the envelope would be nice too, but not expected at that price. http://www.electronicmusicworks.com/detalhes.asp?id=86&produto=28&loja=SYNTHESIZERS Anyone on he...

Re: more Korg analog - Monotron Duo & Monotron Delay

Hmm, they've left it a bit late for the christmas market I would have thought they'd be in stores by now. I thought having these as stocking fillers was kind of the idea. Sweetwater says they're scheduled to be in stock in 'late December, just in time to pick up for stocking stuffers' or something ...

lower than the regular Monotron? That doesn't seem right. I wonder if they're factoring in the rebate deal or something.
