i have one of these with the programmer, its a fairly shallow menu dive, but still a menu dive! its nice to be able to see the relative positions of all the knobs at a glance. im bothered by menu systems, so i would just buy a programmer, but $500 is ridiculous, i know modeless recently sold some JX...

i kind of find of find monos a bit boring. probably because i suck, and they sound like *bleep*beep*boop*. lots of fun to just hit epic chords on a poly imo :)

also, seems to me that a modular is the way to go for mono stuff? i wound up selling my monos and just kept the polys

could not get it to work :( tried jx3p and no dice either... im assuming its something to do with the audio interface or ableton setup (was using a mates setup, just brought the synths along). will have to pay a visit to someone who knows what theyre doing and get them to walk me thru it ! thanks fo...

more stupid questions... assuming mine is the earlier version, this should not matter if its the only midi equipment im using? it would only matter if i wanted to send mutiple midi messages to different synths on different channels?

ah thats a great idea to troubleshoot the jack, it had crossed my mind that the jack might be broken... from what i have been able to understand, if the prophet is the older ROM version, then its set to receive on all channels... so it should not matter what channel ableton is sending it on? is ther...

so, i tried to setup my prophet 600 so i could draw in midi notes into ableton 8... could not get the damn thing to work! i swapped the cables around and sending notes from the keyboard into ableton worked perfectly, im not sure what i have to do to get it happening the other way around? anyone had ...

is the keys/stenciling on yours a clean white or more yellowish? mines quite yellow looking, im not sure if its supposed to look like this or it spent most of its life in a smokey room.

well the SH2 finally arrived, and its incredible. such a huge sound, it actually makes my other synths sound a bit weak in comparison!
