Re: Synths from the past to the future

hardware and analog resurgence I think a lot of more affordable smaller units will continue to make appearances, since people keep whinging about prices.. Modular seems to be huge at the moment, semi modular too - mfb have that semi modular thing with presets coming out shortly.. in the 2020s..ideas??

Re: Korg EMX-1 upgrade suggestions

I've listened to every soundcloud/youtube/vimeo demo I can find of each + a couple of others (Spectralis, MPC's etc) but I keep coming back to the Tempest.. No external sequencing (yet) is surprising but it wouldnt be a huge problem as it sounds fantastic in the box IMO, plus I can just keep the EMX...

Re: Korg EMX-1 upgrade suggestions

I'm not sure about what to suggest for an upgrade, but i think you should be able to solve some of the midi issues. try digging in the midi utility (midi > shift + key 12) to try and turn off sending unwanted messages. it's here: http://www.korg.com/uploads/Support/EMX1_Manual_633660067695790000.pd...

Re: MS2000 vs MS2000B

the only difference is that the 2000B has an xlr jack for the vocoder on the front panel, the 2000 just has a 1/4" jack on the back.

Korg EMX-1 upgrade suggestions

As much as I love my EMX, Im finding some of the limitations fairly irksome.. Particularly the midi options, you cant stop it sending program msgs or CC stuff, so anytime i change a pattern it changes the patch on my Alesis Ion (unfortunately Alesis omitted the ability to disable that too) The outpu...

Re: Preloaded Perfect Presets

so far i've found the alesis ion presets to be extremely good, great variety and totally useable. the j00piter one especially, sounds amazing. I havent even really got round to getting deep into the programming yet as every sound i've needed has been in the presets (only had it a few weeks though ;) )

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

Now, back to the topic! I've got a Minibrute sitting in a musiciansfriend shopping cart with the 15% discount still applied. Works out $450 shipped to Australia, but I don't have $450 at the moment. What do? next payday, i am doing this. $27 for shipping to Australia is awesome. edit: 100th post! n...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

This is quite cool - saves adding additional hardware, but gives you all the "background" features that standard monos usually provide. I can't think of any other analog monosynth that gives you LFO reset/freerun options; nice. The Little Phatty does, buried in the menus on the latest software upda...

Re: Arturia MiniBrute - analog monosynth

looks pretty deec! keen to hear these 'metalizer' and 'Ultrasaw' wave sounds..all the CV options make it a bit of a lil Phatty killer too (better arp, 2 lfos, aftertouch, multimode filter) looks like the market is catching up with analog demand, feels like there's almost more analog hardware around ...
