Re: New stuff from Roland!

Another Plug-out. This time the SH-2. Funny how there's a recent thread asking if the SH-2 Oscillators are superior to the other SH synths. I guess Roland agrees!

Also, watch the whole video. I mean aaaaaalll of it. Even to the last shot. ;)

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Alright, I see all of your points and they all make sense. But for the record, I have watched the videos and I understand what Roland is trying to do with the ARIA series. I guess I understand now. Just needed an answer and it was given to me. I don't agree that VAs should be used for Analog emulati...

Re: New stuff from Roland!

Just curious, why does everyone think that the sole purpose of a VA is to emulate vintage analog synthesizers down to the dot? I know almost everyone on here hates the Gaia since it's so "harsh and digital" or whatever, but no one is forcing you guys to re-create older synthesizer sounds. They sugge...

Well, there go my chances of getting a Juno anytime soon. Guess I'll stick to the TAL emulation of the 60....

Sustain Pedal Problems (Yamaha and Korg Workstations)

I've been having a problem which has been bugging me and others for a long time now. I play keyboards for my school's marching band, and we use a Yamaha Motif XF6 and a Korg M50 (61 key version). For two years we have used the same Yamaha FC3 sustain pedals for both of them, and now neither of them ...

Out of curiosity, what's a good price range for Poly-800s? Less than $300?

This sounds too good to be true... but this company appears to have a great history.

Re: Deadmau5 buys a Fairlight CMI

I can say with a good certainty that deadmau5 is trying his hardest to distance himself from "EDM" as much as possible. Just go to his soundcloud and listen to some of his songs on there. Granted most of them are "joke songs" that he puts together for fun, but he clearly doesn't like making EDM musi...

Re: What are your favorite type of synth sounds?

Kavinsky just released a new album called "Outrun", in case anyone's wondering. He claimes to have used only a Yamaha DX7 on the "Teddy Boy" EP. As for me, one of my favorite synth sounds is a wide-open Minimoog going through the Moogerfooger Phaser (or any other phaser with up to 12 stages). This i...
