Re: AN1x - Scene Morph and Controller Assignment

Bumped because I need halp! I still don't know if the MIDI controller assignments can be ignored on a patch-local level. I know this is a pretty popular synth with the gearheads so any help would really be appreciated.

Re: looking for an analog synth with an EXTERNAL SOUND INPUT

DSI Mopho! Not vintage, but the price is right and you get a nice monosynth.

AN1x - Scene Morph and Controller Assignment

I just recently got a good deal on a used AN1x because I'd heard lots of serious praise for its sounds, but unfortunately I've heard just about as much in the way of hate for its interface...and I have a new Mac so no editor... I'm having trouble with CC assignment and the morph feature. The way I un...

Re: WANTED: Poly-800 Strap Pegs

Info's in your email but I'll post some specs here for anyone who might run into this in the future... -Each peg is a small cylinder with 2 gaps framed between 3 "disc" shapes. One of these gaps is beveled inside (to form the external "peg" portion) and one gap has clean right angles to the discs (t...

Re: WANTED: Poly-800 Strap Pegs

You can't have mine! But I could disassemble it and take a photo of the pegs themselves so you could make a pair of hardwood mockups, which should work. PM me if this is of interest to you.

Re: Multiple Sounds from one synth

Megaman X is right. I'm not familiar with the architecture of the SH-201, but I know there's a way to "split" the keyboard if you want your 2 timbres to be on 2 seperate halves. Alternately, you can set it to "Dual" mode so that the sounds play on top of each other over the whole keyboard.

Sounds like a pain...external hard drive, needs mods...no sequencer?? Get the ESX.

Re: Synths for fun and investment

I can say that my 2-year buying spree is largely a result of being able to pay disproportionately little for gear that would have cost at least twice as much when it was new. Granted, it's all been stuff released within the past 10 years, not true "vintage" gear, but even the older ones I see locall...

:o

This makes my thriftstore find of a $4 Korg Poly-800II look like cat puke. Still, $4 for a keytar? Awwwwww yeah. 8-)

Re: Korg MS2000BR Through an Oscilliscope (full video)

Pretty trippy/educational stuff. I actually picked up a vintage oscilloscope but it proved to be a dud; a 50-pound albatross. What I may try to do is get a standalone copy of the Whitecap visualizer...it does the standard oscilloscope stuff and can generate some pretty intricate wireframe models as ...

Re: VSE´s Electribe ESX-1 project...

I've actually got a 2nd ESX (not in my possession right now, might end up selling it to turn some profit... :) ) and I might just use that as a dedicated source of disembodied voices with no drums or anything else at all. Replacing some synthlines with drum-slotted vocals to make something like rap ...

This demo rocks! Your poly-800 one was also pretty inspiring and may yet have me dusting it off for some keytar action :D

Korg R3 review submitted for approval! Let's get on that then, Mr. vintagesynth :D

EDIT: Just noticed no more estimated value...I guess things got to politically charged at VSE!

Re: VSE´s Electribe ESX-1 project...

Yeah this thread is 3 months stale but I wanted peoples' input on vocal samples. How many slots and how much time do other people generally work with? If anyone's curious, I'm doing more of my vocal stuff on a ratty old SP-202 hooked into my EMX's line in because I can and it frees up the ESX for mo...

Re: VOCALWARS - Korg R3 vs. Roland VP-770

The TC Voicelive Touch looks pretty cool as a dedicated vocal/looping unit (checked some demos). Also gotta say that the Roland was way more solid build quality, but my R3's been dropped on its edge and dragged around with me and it's held up well so far, but it's hard to trust that thin plastic lip...
