Re: Korg Legacy Collection Updated!

I didn't have a problem upgrading, once Korg sorted out a few hiccups. I really like the Odyssey, but the "VCO" scaling is a bit TOO relaxed... It's way out of tune if you go over a few octaves (even a genuine ARP Oddy isn't this out of kilter!). I just hope there's an update for user control of sca...

Re: Synthesizers that have a 'Moog-like' sound

You may not like it, but there's no denying that the Behringer Model D does actually sound Moogish, so does GuinGuin's DIY "MME" Minimoog Clone which I'm currently testing :o :o :o

Re: Connecting an analog sensor to an eurorack synth

If you're talking about FSRs (Force Sensitive Resistors), then yes, you're good to go... I use them in all sorts of ways, including adding aftertouch to a keyboard, and pressure pads similar to ARPs PPC. I always buffer the output voltage with a simple Op-Amp follower, with a 1k resistor on the outp...

Re: Behringer about to release six (!) new synths

I'd take it all with a pinch of salt.

But meanwhile - Behringer have officially quoted the Euro/UK price of the Model D (available mid-January).

€349/£307 including VAT, so it's actually CHEAPER than the $299 which doesn't include tax - My pre-order is in :D

Arturia Vintage Collection Version 6

This release surprised me - Version 6 includes 4 more classic keyboards:

Clavinet
Fairlight
DX7
Buchla Easel

€399 new or €199 upgrade, but I'm not upgrading for the time being as I'm spent up.

All the synths in Version 5 have been updated with high resolution graphics (great with a 4/5K iMac).

Re: Your latest musical purchase

I tried to resist, I really did. I had the mini key version for a few days, but the LFO/ADSR Re-Trigger problem caused me to send it back. Happy to say that it's been fixed with the module version, although out of the box, the PW sliders are STILL not calibrated correctly. I opened mine up and corre...

Sold my remaining hardware instruments and now 100% in the box. https://www.thomann.de/pics/bdb/270197/4953756_800.jpg https://www.gearslutz.com/board/attachments/product-image-container/430977-product-images-logic-pro-x.jpg I'm also using hardware less and less - I'd probably be fine if I just rel...

Re: Oscillators always oscillate?

That's pretty cool. What's the oscillator doing before any keys are pressed though? Most, if not all, analogue VCOs oscillate continually - Pressing a key only changes the control voltage to vary the pitch, the oscillator will stay at that frequency until a different key is pressed. The same goes f...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Regarding the "lost" Operation:Daybreak soundtrack... I thought it was too good to go unreleased so, I have attempted to rerecord all the cues as closely as I can - Please take into account that the original music that I worked from was lifted from the DVD release and I had to break down all the par...

I thought it was time to move a larger quantity of air - I didn't realize how much bigger a pair of 8" monitors would be

Import the track to an audio editor (or play though a mixer) and mute either the left or right Chanel - You can clearly hear the two different sequences.

First 8 bars of Magazine's My Tulpa - Perfect example of ARP Odyssey's Sync & Ringmod with S&H triggered by the keyboard.

Wonderfully aggressive.
