Re: Sell everything and grab a CS-80

Buyers set market value, not sellers. I would disagree with this especially with regards to the UK market. There are a group of commercial sellers and CS-80 "specialists" that demand the most outrageous amounts of money for these instruments. Other people see these prices and presume it is an accep...

Re: Oberheim OB-8 pot scanning resolution?

The parameters on my OB-8 are silky smooth, they feel just like analogue pots to me.

I think you would need an oscilloscope to see the stepping, it is absolutely nothing like the parameters on the prophet 600

Re: Sell everything and grab a CS-80

Thanks for all of the replies! It reassures me that getting rid of my existing g set up would be stupid. I doubt I would ever own things like the OB-8, JP-4 and RS-505 again. I do really want a CS-80 and I always will but as mentioned above, I think it will require a lengthy saving plan. Without goi...

Sell everything and grab a CS-80

I have always wanted a CS-80 and always will for as long as I live. Has anyone on here got one? I want to know if this instrument truly is as magical as myth dictates? I know someone local to me that owns one and says he does not like the sound as he is not proficient enough at playing the keyboard/...

Re: GET WOOD! Speaker Cabinets, P600 and Drumtraks Panels

Fantastic service! The walnut panels for my Oberheim DX look incredible. The machine looks like a real vintage piece now. After dropping the DX at a gig, the plastic panel previously attached smashed. The new walnut sides are just what I needed . Many thanks once more http://i41.tinypic.com/123pieo....

Re: Yamaha CS-10, sound comes in and out

I have had a similar issue with my CS-15, I traced it down to the HP/LP/BP filter switch. They easily collect dust and dirt, once it is in there, it can not get out. This used to stop the audible signal getting to the output on mine. I am not sure if you have the same problem but try cleaning out th...

To answer your question, No.

However, it is fantastic to know someone so close is nursing a 2600. Greetings from the pool ;)

Re: Trading Vintage For New Golden Age

The thought of selling the SH-5 I don't have makes me feel sick. If it is anything like the rest of Roland's greats from the 70's and early 80's that I have had the pleasure of owning or playing then you would be selling something with character and charm that none of the listed modern analogues cou...

Re: Polysix arpeggiator trigger

The Polysix needs an S-trigger, sound like that's the problem... If you have the S-trigger cable from Doepfer for the Dark Time, try it with that one. I concur with this. If you're not familiar, an "S-Trigger" is the opposite of a "V-Trigger". Here's how it works... In a V-Trigger setup, the time p...

Re: Subtractive filter question

I would say that it varies from filter to filter. The Moog MF-101 has and insane effect on the input when wide open. No matter what you do, when the filter is active, you loose high end harmonics. I was shocked at this tbh, the fact that you can't push a fully unfiltered signal whilst the filter is...

SOS subscriber needed to reply to add

Hey all, There is a local add on SOS that I would like to take up however I am not a subscriber and therefore can not reply to the add. If any subs would care to retrieve the email address for me, it would be very much appreciated. The add is under the "synthesizer hardware" catagory and is titled "...

Polysix arpeggiator trigger

So when I send a trigger to the polysix to control the arpeggiator, the polysix seems to lag behind by quite a noticeable amount. When I trigger the juno or Jupiter, the sync is perfect however the polysix seems to be out of time with my drum machine for example. It is out of time by about a quarter...
