Re: Reported problems with Korg Electribes (EMX-ESX)

yeah they're really bad at sending note off messages.

Anyone else get dropped notes when performing with the solo/part mute button? occasionally mine will shush up any events on step one.

I laughed heartily at this, aloud, at my desk at work. then quickly minimized all non-work related windows as my boss came over and reminded me that I shouldn't be browsing forums at work.

there's a zoom h4n on my local cl right now. seeing as it's small enough, dude'd probably ship it.

Re: are the terms bandwidth/Q/resonance interchangeable?

yeah I thought Q and bandwidth and "octave range" were all the same thing.
kind of automatic cutoff points for a bandpass filter, as opposed to defining both through a low pass and a high pass filter.

Re: electribe es-1 -seq Length and Song tempo-

I mean, you could do 9/4 in one of the triplet settings with the length at 3. Otherwise if you aren't doing anything else while the song is playing (and you have decent timing) you could retrigger the sequence every time you need it to change - that's shift+play. not too condusive to playing guitar ...

Re: electribe es-1 -seq Length and Song tempo-

1- shift + key one should be length, adjustable from 1 (16x1) to 4 (16x4) steps. it doesn't do time signatures that aren't 4/4 or 3/4 time.

and yeah. the write button is your best friend. Or rather, your girlfriend for the first time as a teenager - touch her all the time.

Re: advice on a mixer

honestly, mine sound fine. I've gone through a few mixers, mackies, behringers, peaveys, and the 1002b's are the ones i've got left at the end of it all. the 1002b isn't based off a mackie model. the 1204 and 1222fx and 502 and 802s i've owned and used were terrible, both in sound and build quality,...

you can't make a chorus on the timefactor? just set the delay under 100ms on something with modulation.

Re: advice on a mixer

I'd pick up the behringer 1002b and go from there; it's got the three different flavors of effects loops (insert, pre- and post-), stereo, decent eqs, and faders for each channel and it'll give you more of a sense of what precisely you want in a mixer without destroying your budget.

Re: Chorus for synths

I use a deltalabs stereo chorus for a generic chorus sound and a Boss PS-3 for a detuned chorus sound. The chorus on the Boss PS-6 is quite nice as well. I've also gotten really nice chorus sounds out of the Digitech RDS racks.

hammer action if I have to control volume through velocity. If I can just as easily plug in a volume pedal, synth action.

Re: How do you name your patches?

I give the datawheel a good shake for the first two characters and then come up with something that works/actually spells something for the rest based on those two. Then I name the track after it.

Re: more Korg analog - Monotron Duo & Monotron Delay

what'd be really neat is if they made a monotr** docking station that'd allow for quick re-routing (via a nice patchbay) and changed the master ins/outs to two proper sized 1/4" unbalanced jacks or even stereo RCAs (and, while I'm day dreaming, add two AAA battery sized docking spots so we can power...

Re: Cheetah MS6 Problem

you try replacing/upgrading the EEPROM?

found this through a brief google search:

Failing that, you could at least talk to the guy that runs the page, he's probably come across something similar.
