"Picked up a Superdisk drive awhile back but didn't even bother to try it because, as I understand it, those are slower than zip drives."
the question is a matter of reliability....right?

Re: FloppyEmulator.com Return of the Ensoniq ASR-10
No problem at all! Nerd candy is awesome. Please continue to write reviews and articles regarding hardware. I would love to read more about the asr-x unit. I heard that it has amazing bass response as well as its warmth when work with samples... Not to mention the quality of the effects. It is hard ...

~400 alternative to an asr? Rs7000 , mc909 , mpc series....and those have smart media options readily available...i know that we are all particular about our taste in droids but that is that. My point is that your data solution for a synth/sampler should never actually cost a synth or sampler. Plus ...

Re: FloppyEmulator.com Return of the Ensoniq ASR-10
It would be nice to see the hxc emulator showcased along side the floppy emulator. Basic functionality contrasted against optimal functionality. The goal isnt just to have a floppy on a smart media card or usb stick, but for both to be able to load multiple volumes with relative ease. It is great to...

Re: FloppyEmulator.com Return of the Ensoniq ASR-10
If you have a central workhorse then this is viable...but when you have five sampler/sequencers/synths with floppies as datasave schemes then you have a problem of price propogation. You spend ~400 bucks on each machine that needs it. The circuits do not warrant the price set. Yes i can dig you need...

Re: FloppyEmulator.com Return of the Ensoniq ASR-10
385 dollars is just too expensive to be a viable solution if you have multiple pieces of kit. Its a great concept...but its not cost effective for a multiple platform rig.

Could you use an Ipad to make the deeper edits using the AN200? Ipad sysex intergration would make me swoon for the AN-200(or even two)

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread
Biggup to megamanx I have bought a vp9000 and an MFB-503 from him. Both slightly damaged *as specified* at a significant discount (I purchase through lay away agreements) he is prompt kind and understanding. I am glad he found time to understand my financial perspective and still take time to hook m...

Re: iPad audio interface, looping sequencer, and audio edito
I just got animoog and I am really happy with how it sounds in contrast to my other gear. I pump it into the inputs of my su700 and it does pads beautifully. I sample into my hardware and I must say it is just awesome in regards to how it extends my sonic palette for peanuts. The ipad needs proper h...

RS7000 is a great sequencer. it allows each track to have different bar length and different time signature.

Same "flaw" as the MC808. you have to "pop the truck" to sculpt the sound...then close it and go for a drive.

Re: If you had $1000 what would you buy?
If I had an extra $1000 smackers (with additional cash coming in) I would definitely start a eurorack. $1000 is enough to start the foundation with the critical elements, and then I could just get the modules to link up to my current setup.
