Re: twin AN-200 versus AN-1x

Can you do the edits via an Ipad, or do you have to use the software?

twin AN-200 versus AN-1x

Let it be known that I love the form factor or the AN1x...but I am wondering that aside from the Keyboard, what else does have the AN1x form factor offer. if they are both based on the same board, then could one make the same patches on the AN-200 that are made on the AN1x? I am just wondering becau...

Re: MC-50 love?

I have one that I am working on now...but this is how I envision using it...as a Midi cc orchestrator...and for chords and stuff. What you can do is record the yammies stuff into the mc50. I need the MC50 because I run out of slots on the RS7000...but the truth is that I only want the MC50 for its s...

Re: Name some underrated/hated synths that you like

I started with software and went to hardware. The mc series is an acquired taste, and with all the gear out there...it is really easy to underrate them. Not alot of people know this, but the engine of the mc808 is like a love child of the fantom and the s-series. Lots of horsepower and potential. It...

Re: Arturia iSEM (iPad)

I would like to hear from actual Oberheim owners to see how they think it stacks up...I am not looking for total transparency...its just I like hardware...and I have an Ipad...so I am really careful before just buying software....mainly because I still buy vinyl and hardware. but also because I feel...

Re: Name some underrated/hated synths that you like

Roland MC808. My first piece of gear. I started using it with the computer...and by understanding the synth engines working metaphor I am able to quickly grasp other operating systems by Roland. People hate it because the only way you can use it to its maximum potential is to hook it up with a compu...

Re: Veiled grief --MIDERA-- Featuring the Spectralis II

Yeah but you started the thread saying you thought that this video showed the Speckie was more than your average groovebox. No offense I just dont see/hear how. Now if you feel that way personally about your work and your gear, then i can appreciate that. Furthermore you really dont have to care. Af...

Re: Veiled grief --MIDERA-- Featuring the Spectralis II

Specifications are often a far cry from functionality. I do not mean to deride your work. I just dont see how this demonstration separates the spectralis from the pack. If it can do more than other boxes than i would like to know how in a way that is perceptual...like by you playing it and making re...

Re: Veiled grief --MIDERA-- Featuring the Spectralis II

thanks for posting. I have to admit I really dont hear what makes the spectralis so special in regards to sound or sequencing. the editing is nice on the video, but I dont get it . its not that what you are doing sound good or bad...its just i dont hear what sets the spectralis on a pedestal in rega...

Re: Roland JV vs Roland JX

this is encouraging...I really want to expand my range/palette of tones/timbres, but some vintage gear is just not cost effective.

Re: Silent indifference -MIDERA- Yamaha RS7000 groovebox ele

You could put the MC808 on auxiliary duty...by this I mean just confine it to 1-2 bar patterns and boost that with an RPS custom data set. Thanks for the information on the Spectralis. I love the sound engine and I covet the filter bank. I also enjoy the history behind it(I always wanted a Quasimidi...

Re: Silent indifference -MIDERA- Yamaha RS7000 groovebox ele

hey adekoyote, Does the RS-7000 not sequence chord progressions? And is that the only thing the MC-808 adds to the RS7000? Typically I just input my own chords via a keyboard and don't normally enter these as a 'chord'. Anyway, I also haven't enjoyed connecting my gear. I like my Spectralis alone, ...
