Re: 3-Oscillator Per Voice Polysynths??

If layer mode counts then you can add OB-8, OB-Xa, Prophet-10, Chroma, Chroma Polaris, JP-6 Europa, JP-8, MKS-80, Andromeda, and Voyetra-8... All give you at least 4 independant (not just unison mode) VCOs on 1 key...

Re: The Idiosyncrasies of the Oberheim DSX.

Actually the DSX does allow you to use your OB synth as an 8-channel CV/Gate kegboard controller at least it does with my DSX v3.04. If you have an OB-8 with MIDI the DSX will even let you sequence an external synth over MIDI...

Re: Any Love for the Octave Plateau Voyetra 8?

I have or have had just about every analog polysynth made and the V-8 is my favorite. The combination of CEM VCOs and SSM filters is unique and wonderful. The mod routings while not as extensive as the Andromeda or Matrix-12 are deeper than what you get on a Prophet-5 or Memorymoog (for example filt...

Re: Omnichord chord hold not working, various other things

Most of the Omnichord probs I've seen were due to battery leakage. Have you checked the boards for corroded/discolored parts, contacts, and traces?

Brilliant analysis Dan. The synth community is lucky to have someone with your expertise, love of the instruments and and the willingness to share! Heh, this is rather ironic coming from you since your response to my post about the dangers of old tantalum caps in the Help forum was to stop spreadin...
