Electronic Lounge/Smooth Jazz beat

I made this awhile back, but just recently uploaded it to Youtube. The chords were made with a Roland JX-10 synth. The other synth sounds were made with a...umm...I forget :D . Maybe a Bit One, maybe a Casio CZ synth, not sure. The xylophone is a real xylophone that I mic'd up and recorded :). The s...

Re: New JX-10 Pros/cons/tips?

My tip would be, to make really huge sounding patches, make sure to use the....umm....errr....s**t, I don't remember the setting, I haven't had my JX-10 in so long. Umm, something like the Dual effect, or something. It allows you mix 2 separate patches together for one massive patch. It's amazing fo...

Re: Ferrari's and Moustaches

Listening to this again with a good set of headphones, I love it. The way it starts is beautiful. I really like those chords/notes/scale whatever you play in the first 8 bars. It's real nice. The computer-ish lead sound that kicks in after that sounds great and plays a great melody. I'm a sucker for...

Re: Ferrari's and Moustaches

I like this. It reminds me of a stage of Sonic the Hedgehog on steroids. I could see it being used in a video game.

Re: Minimalist synth drone horror soundtrack project

I really like Meltdown. The flute sound is great, and that guitar that comes in after that is great too. Listening to the rest now, I really like They Are Slowly Walking Towards You too, very nice. Eggs is not really my thing. Deathdream is cool. Overall, good work, I dig it.

Groovy

Just some loopy stuff I made with my Oberheim OB-12 and a Roland MV-8800 to record to. Has a little Rhodes solo mid-song. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Re: Best Synth Programming Interface Ever?

By far, the best interface in my opinion is the Arp Axxe. Simple, easy to use, perfectly laid out. You can get a very musical sound out of it extremely fast. Why not the Arp Odyssey? The Odyssey is a bit more complicated, and to me it doesn't have the best interface ever. Now being complex doesn't a...

Re: Picking a lesser used but interesting synth...

I'll throw out another vote for the OB-12. Feature-wise it's like a Jupiter 8 on steroids. It's great, and not many people use it or know about it.

Re: equipment that instantly inspires workflow

MV8800 - instant access to tons of samples/drums, sequences other gear with ease. VGA monitor/mouse + DAW like interface minus a computer is a huge plus. Yeah totally. I love my MV8800. I'm tempted to buy some more samples for it though, I only use the drums and stuff that shipped with the unit. Be...

A simple groove

Made with an Oberheim OB-12, which you don't hear alot on these forums. Drums are sampled.

If you want to hear more OB-12, check my Youtube most recent uploads. Cheers.
