This is totally true, although it's usually sort of subtle you should definitely look into this. Here's an article on it:

I'd consider trying to get a synth with an arpeggiator if your just getting started playing and looking to have fun with one piece of gear.

Re: Would you make this trade?

IDK If you are busy and haven't had much time to dig in yet, I would see if you can sell that guy the EPS and spend your time enjoying the SQ-80 before getting something else. Do you have any effect pedals or anything or are you running it into a DAW?

Re: Cables...

The Mackie manuals generally seem good, it's worth reading through if you haven't.

Re: Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

I agree with jabberwalky, for it’s feature set, I think the interface on the ESQ-1 is very thoughtfully designed and super easy to use.

@habibardi, did you make any headway with this? I wonder if the firmware has anything to do with it.

Are you in the US? I see them come up on craigslist alongside esq-1s for sale from time to time.

Re: TR-8 sequencer synced with Arturia Microbrute sequencer

You might well be doing everything correctly: the micro brute sequencer has crazy issues synching to external midi clock. Check the arturia microbrute forums. Someone actually started a change.org petition to get them to fix it!

Re: korg es-1 won't boot

Yeah I did. It's possible this was the source of the issue as i'm using an adjustable adaptor. I don't remember if it got toggled at some point and then I ran the es-1 on the wrong voltage: I moved apartments around the time this happened so have no way of knowing if the voltage got toggled during t...

Re: korg es-1 won't boot

It crapped out before I tried to run the update. I agree, it is possible the card got corrupted, but it should work without a card in it right? That’s why I was thinking when I got a replacement es-1 I might have a better chance of fixing this one by confirming whether the card and software file is ...

Re: korg es-1 won't boot

I assume you've seen/read this http://madeformono.blogspot.com/2009/01 ... -es-1.html Yes, I saw that. Good to hear you had success with it. I'll try it if I end up with the MK1 (when I get the money spare to buy a new one). If it's the same mod delay that's on the emx-1 it's worth a little effort.
