Re: Mackie 1202 VLZ-Pro

Thanks for the replies everyone. Kind of what I was hoping to hear, it's probably good enough for me.

Mackie 1202 VLZ-Pro

I’ve been using a a Mackie 1202 VLZ-Pro since I started with gear a few years ago (recommended to me here by Z -thanks!). It was cheap, and I’m still happy with it, and it’s still meeting my needs… but I’ve never compared it to anything! Would something in the $2-300 range with the similar features ...

Re: Question for Boss DR-660 users

...You know, I think I've given incomplete info here: When you select Reverb or Chorus you need to then toggle the *tiny* Reverb/Chorus text to read Ind 1 or Ind 2 with the cursor pad - then set the level. :| I hope you get it.

Re: MC-909 ghost in currently selected channel

Did you try assigning something else to the mixer part and seeing if that value changes randomly in the same way, like the part panning? Well, whenever the ghost reappears in my selected channel, I open up the Pan tab in the mixer section. It's still the volume that randomly changes. Dang, there's ...

Re: Question for Boss DR-660 users

Yeah that manual is fairly cryptic about this and the way it works is pretty unintuitive- the reverb and chorus buttons double function here. Hit the 'pad' key and use pan to set the sound to 'ind out' (scroll passed the last pan right value). Once you've confirmed the sound is coming out the ind ou...

korg es-1 won't boot

Left my ES-1 on for a couple of hours and when i returned it was frozen up and the display was dead. I turned it off and on again but now all I get is the scrolling Electribe loading text - it won't fully boot up. I'm reading this has happened to others in some form or another and that re-installing...

Re: New hybrid digital/analogue Roland JD/Xi

Definitely cool, but not all that different in concept from the Roland JX-305, right? Sound of the thing aside aside, the drum edit capabilities seem on par.

Re: Grooveboxes - worth it?

Cool, good luck with it. All this stuff is what you make of it anyway. Per the MC303, not sure if you've seen this: http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewt ... 68#p699755

Re: Grooveboxes - worth it?

It's pushing your price point but the original Korg EMX-1 might be worth researching and saving for if you're getting started. It's so much fun and super easy to get up and going on. That said, I personally like the sound of (and deeper flexibility of shaping sounds on) the Roland MC505, but never a...

Re: Grooveboxes - worth it?

What are you looking to do with it? Do you have gear other than the volca beats? Do you have a computer integrated into your set up? Or is this going to be a stand alone piece?
