Re: Questions about obscure synth terminology from the past.

So I looked up the Korg 700s. I've come to the conclusion that whoever wrote this score must have been using one instead of any kind of Moog. The fiends! So the two "traveler"s independently control the filter cutoff of separate high/low pass filters, aka move upper traveler means adjust the non-exi...

Re: Roland D5 cosmetic and electronic repairs

Well thank you all for your help but I ended up just giving up and sending it in to Roland. I have yet to complete the cosmetics and the button replacements, but otherwise it's ship shape. I appreciate your advice!

Re: Questions about obscure synth terminology from the past.

P'b'ly zero help, but the only synth I remember having a "traveler" was the Korg 700 (and 700s). Ther upper traveler slider was the filter cutoff, lower resonance. No, that helps a lot, thank you! It confirms that I've been doing something right... Also, thanks for the help with the photos both of ...

Re: Questions about obscure synth terminology from the past.

Okay, no pictures is worse than crappy pictures. Could someone also tell me a good way for me to post pictures SOMEWHERE that I could link to here?

Questions about obscure synth terminology from the past...

I'll try and keep this short and sweet. Basically, my school is doing a rendition of The Wiz (one could call it the hip disco/funk version of the Wizard of Oz). Though I find it a great deal of fun (and an excuse to finally get that gear I've always wanted...), the score is more than a little confus...

WTB: Roland D-5 MAIN BOARD ONLY

I already posted this in Gear Wanted, but I figured there might be a different more parts related group surfing this forum, so here goes again. I have all intentions of fixing my own D-5 main board, but it's always good to have a spare, and then I get to enjoy the synth now and fix my own board in p...

Re: Roland JX-3P & PG-200 vs. Akai AX73

Darn. Thanks for your thoughts, guys. In light of recent events I'll probably be looking for some rack mount synths as opposed to keyboards. Generally cheaper, and I have finally fulfilled my controller needs... for now (got a QS8 yesterday) and am starting up a new rack (thanks OntarioHydro!). I pr...

Re: Roland JX-3P & PG-200 vs. Akai AX73

Would that simply be due to the extra ocillator/voice (and the fact they're DCOs)? Apparently the guy is also selling the JX-3P with a flight case, and everything is "mint".
I don't have $450 but I'm thinking I would start there if I did go for this. Thinking for down the road.

Roland JX-3P & PG-200 vs. Akai AX73

Though I'm probably not going to buy either listing, surfing Kijiji I came across these two, $700 and $445 respectively. For the record, I think the Roland seller is nuts, but that's just me. It did get me wondering, though... I've never used either, but I think the Roland probably takes the advanta...

Re: Roland D5 cosmetic and electronic repairs PLEASE READ

Rhino: 1) don't know, but since I can filter it with my amp eq on all three bands (hope I don't sound stupid) there are multiple frequencies and not just "60Hz". 2) yes 3) 4) 5) no Definitely not repainting it xD no way! Got the iron, just need the switches. Newsynthfixx: Thanks, will update that po...

I posted a wanted ad and will (hopefully) be buying one this week.
$50 for an almost functional synth AND PG10 would be a bit of a stretch, however nice it may be xD

Re: Tired of Diving Presets, need help

I can't say one way or another right now because I haven't tried (no point if you can't hear much), but I figure the low probable cost it will take me to fix it can make me more than the $50 I paid for it back. So at the very least, I'll have made some money off of it. (Even with a PG 10, it would b...
