Re: Modular EG and VCA interaction

Yeah, I posted the wrong picture. I took that right when I got it home. I have no idea why it was patched that way. I actually read the delightfully put together Aries 300 Series manual but it didn't say anything specific about patching the EG to the VCA. I think the issue is the initial gain. Thank...

They are still made, they can be bought from Mouser.
Thanks for the tip!

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!

Someone's liquidating a KingKorg in the Boston metro for $595. That's a pretty good deal if you're in the market. I bet they would negotiate--seems like they need Xmas dough.

Modular EG and VCA interaction

Good to know the HELP section of this board is still somewhat functional. SO...I happen to have recently obtained a strange and fascinating small modular synth. Its core is five Aries 300 series modules: 1 VCO (AR 317), 1 EG (AR 312), 1 VCF (AR 314), 1 VCA (AR 316) and 1 S/H, Clock, Noise module (AR...

Re: Pick from 4 synths

Rubber-dome buttons like those on the ESQ-1/SQ-80 really aren't that hard to fix, though - 99% of the time they just need a good once-over with Q-tips and rubbing alcohol. OT: Would six of them fail in the same way, though? I tested for continuity and found nothing wrong when they were pressed, so ...

Re: Pick from 4 synths

I love the ESQ-1 too. However, I made the mistake of selling TWO working models in the past and the recent one I bought had what I thought were only minor issues but they are not minor. KB works, but I can't edit two of the soft buttons and I can't use some key sequencer buttons. And the button used...

Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!

The Juno is a funny instrument. Set the EG for slow attack, decay, release and no sustain. Set the LFO speed about 50%, set the resonance 50-75%, cutoff to 0, modulate the filter with both EG and LFO at 50-75%, turn on the chorus and enable all three waveforms. Play one note...wow, that does sound ...

Re: so Juno 60's are about £1000 now? what the h**l?!

The Juno 60 also doesn't suffer from the voice chip issue the 106 does. So something is definitely different. IFRC the 60 also has the same filter as the Jupiter 8? I have a second hand 60 that the seller found in his uncle's closet where it had resided for two decades. Despite missing one slider c...

I like both of those synths, but the Ion is more powerful than both of them put together. I would do it.

Does this piano play more than one note at a time through the filter or do you have to MIDI the sound?

Meatball on this forum has some great advice on the DJX. I bought one from him and he has some good tips for MIDI implementation and where to look for programs that will further unlock its potential. I don't use mine for much more than fun time at parties and busting out at summer camp.
