Re: Again: Juno or Polysix?

Now I'll finally be able to find out for myself; I just bought one in pretty good condition (new battery) including a hard case for $850. A bit steeper price then I'd want, but then again I haven't seen any in decent condition for less than $1000 in a while. I'm so excited :D.

Re: Nostalgic (dreamy synth/guitar track)

Those were real guitars (as are the guitar parts on my other tracks). I don't think anything remotely like those sounds could be done on my Juno :P. Thanks for the feedback btw.

Re: Nostalgic (dreamy synth/guitar track)

That was a lovely track (and with a very fitting title)! I certainly get your point. I have done some investigating and tried coming up with some a bit more unusual sounds before, mainly on this track (which sadly is ruined by terrible drums :P). I should probably do that more. My most recent track ...

Re: Nostalgic (dreamy synth/guitar track)

Thanks! :) The Chameleons are awesome, they've been (together with other post punk / new wave bands) a huge influence. I feel like I'm just copying 80s stuff now though, I'm still trying to find my own sound.

Re: Nostalgic (dreamy synth/guitar track)

Haha, thanks! :) I think that actually describes pretty well what I was picturing though.

@briandc: Thank you for the advice, I'll try to either do something with the song structure or add something new to make it more interesting.

Re: New tunes...

Ah, your tracks are so hypnotizing! Loved "Celestial Voyage". The arpeggios/sequences, chords progressions, rhythms, effects... Very captivating. "Hyperborean" has an incredible spacey mood to it, a very detailed soundscape. Loved it when that bass sequence started, and the 'voicey' pad that appears...

Re: Nostalgic (dreamy synth/guitar track)

Thanks for listening! I'm no good singer and I don't have any equipment for it, so vocals are out of the picture (but the song is structured like a typical song with verses and a sort of chorus, so I think some kind of dreamy vocals could fit in). I was inspired when I got in this nostalgic mood thi...

Re: So I made this a while ago and forgot to post it here...

Very beautiful! I liked it best without the drums, but they did by no means ruin it for me.

Re: Nostalgic (dreamy synth/guitar track)

Thanks :) I agree that it drags on a bit. I have tried to add different stuff in the parts consisting only of those pad swells, but I can't come up with anything interesting (I guess I'm too set on it being the way it is now and not thinking fresh about it). What do you mean by transient elements?

Nostalgic (dreamy synth/guitar track)

I finished this track today (at least for now, I'll see if I'll fix it up / polish it some more). It's an attempt at a kind of dreamy sort of 80s inspired sound with lots of reverb and ringing guitar notes. I'm note quite happy with the result, as I feel it sometimes becomes a bit too messy. That's ...

Re: Again: Juno or Polysix?

With this thread back again, I might as well say something about my experience now a year after I bought my first synth. :) I do sometimes think about getting rid of the Juno and buying a Polysix. But each time I think about it, I come to the conclusion that I'm better off keeping the Juno and addin...

Re: Encounter (80s inspired, spacey)

Hah, that's actually a surprisingly fitting description :P. The drum sound is indeed very Jan Hammer like, that was the knd of sound I wanted (and I suck at making realistic sounding drum beats, so it's the best I can do anyway). I guess it would have sounded even better with a Linn or something, th...

Re: Encounter (80s inspired, spacey)

Thanks. :) I agree about the delay; I did actually try some delay on it, but it just ended up sounding messy no matter what I did. I'll try to get it right.

Encounter (80s inspired, spacey)

This is something I've been working on the last week. It's my first time making something more complex than a standard verse-chorus-verse(...) kind of song and using different time signatures. The sounds and chord progressions aren't the most original or anything, but I think it's the best I can do ...
