Re: Romannis Mötte "Distance"

They remind me (at least this song) of a more electronic version of Killing Joke in their mid-80s period (songs like Blue Feather). Which I like very much! :)

Thanks! Never heard of Turning Shrines, I'll have to check them out then :)

Re: Are pulse waves just non-symmetrical modulated square wa

A very crude saw wave then. :P The Poly-800 at least has 16 steps.

edit: Really, the way he describes it, it would be more like a triangle wave?

Re: Are pulse waves just non-symmetrical modulated square wa

No, a square wave is either at +V or -V (or of course in between just when the voltage changes), whatever V is, if it's not biased. It's not in between at 0V for a longer period of time. The figure could show a DC pulse wave or an AC pulse wave, depending on where 0V is.

Re: Zorch

Listening to this now, and it's fantastic! (edit: why haven't I heard of them before?) :) Reminds me a little of Eloy at times. May have inspired them?

Your bass sound inspired me to make this:

@antilles: I absolutely agree with that.

Re: Romannis Mötte "Distance"

Ah, love that hypnotic bass rhythm. It has a sort of 80s soundtrack vibe. I like it very much.

Re: Which monosynth should I get?

the mono/poly is quite agressive sounding, and it is not very "creamy" sounding, it does cut thru a mix very good and as you said it is good for leads. If you want creamy sounds you might want to consider a moog little phatty, the sub phatty is coming out and in your price range. Yep, that is my im...

Which monosynth should I get?

Ok, so I've had my Juno-6 (my first synth) for about a year now, and I feel I know my way around it, and subtractive synthesis in general, pretty well. It has come to the, I guess inevitable, point where I feel that I need something more in addition to the Juno. I love my Juno to bits, but the more ...

Thanks for listening. I agree completely about the drums. I think I'll just remove them for now.

The Sphere (Jarre-ish spacey stuff)

I was playing around with the arpeggiator (clocked by TR-606) on my Juno when I came up with this pattern that I just had to make something out of. It's obviously not very original or anything, but I'm quite pleased with the result. It's the first time I've done something spacey like this. All sound...
