Re: Roland RS-09 - ensemble issues, one output is much quiet

Haven't had the time to get inside it, but a quick update after playing: Moving from "H" to "L", the "louder" channel became richer sounding. I remember a similar issue on my Alpha Juno chorus, but it was outputs cutting out completely, and the chorus became a thin warble. In that case, it was clear...

Roland RS-09 - ensemble issues, one output is much quieter

Proud new owner of an RS-09. Physically in excellent condition, and in otherwise 100% shape except for the ensemble circuit. One channel is much quieter or inaudible, depending on the output setting, when the ensemble is on. Using headphones, it's the right channel. The funny thing is that the outpu...

Re: Replacing the ungodly plywood on my JX-3P.

If I remember right, my Juno-60 has a plywood base. Not even painted.

Re: Thinning the herd...should I sell Juno-60 and DMX?

I just realized I wouldn't need to lose the Juno-60 if I downsize the DX7. I would have just enough room: the Juno-60 and Jupiter-8 on the two-tier Roland stand, and then the Alpha Juno on another stand, and the Minilogue on a tall bar stool. On top of that, the market isn't as hot as I thought. May...

Thinning the herd...should I sell Juno-60 and DMX?

The past few years have been my gear buying spree. Better to buy while young and unfettered than in midlife trying to support a family. But, I recently came to my senses. I realized I'm not in a position to have so much gear, being in a small apartment and all. Right now, I'm selling off some of my ...

Re: Oberheim OB-6 Dave Smith

:o It has the original OB ring mod and phaser built in :o The only thing missing, and this is being really picky, is all of the cool arp functions from the OB-8. And the 2 extra voices, 5-octave keyboard, individual voice panning pots, dual patch splitting and layering capability... ...And also the...

Re: Parts for VINTAGE SYNTHESIZERS.....

Just bought synthparts' last two CEM3310s.

With this, my Oberheim OB-Xa needs five more CEM3340s and two more CEM3310s to be restored to eight voices.

Or, just one CEM3340, and I can live with six voices for now.

Re: What classic synth would you like to see Korg mini-ize n

Poly-800. While mini-keys are a deal-breaker for me in most cases, a strap-on instrument like the Poly-800 would benefit greatly from smaller keys. Of course, it'd have to have a filter per voice and the option of a saw or PWM in addition to that wonky square organ thing. Knobs would also help. Woul...

Re: Greetings From Yamaha USA Pro Music Customer Support

I'm sorry, but I think you're in the wrong forum. http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/postlist/Board/18/page/1 here you go, it's got plenty of sad, bitter old men that play in classic rock cover bands and/or jazz combos. Even the bitter old jazzers and rockers are wondering about Yamah...

My DX7 (mk1) feels really clunky. Maybe the felt is worn out?

Jupiter-8 minor issues (autotune, sync, env keyfollow)

After reviving a Moog MG-1, I feel I might be able to fix a few minor quibbles before taking it in for a possible recap (don't want to do that myself). Autotune : Two oscillators are consistently off by a little. I assume it's usually flaky 4051s or resistors before them on the CPU board (VCO Read S...

Re: Ever been tempted to sell a Jupiter 8 and buy EVERYTHING

Bumping in the wake of recent gear announcements... As Jupiter-8 prices continue to rise, I'm starting to think about this. Even after taking it in to fix the quibbles, I would come out ahead when I sell at market prices. But - the Jupiter-8 was the sound I was always dreaming of, and the sound in m...

Craziest thing happened today - it came back to life! Still not in playable condition yet, see updated original post. I also changed the title to reflect its current state.

Re: JX-3P doesn't boot up / +7V line issues

Funny thing happened on the way to pick up my Moog MG-1 - there was a Radio Shack. I picked up a W04G, installed it, and still got +10V on the +7V rail. After the BEEEEEEooooooowwwwww, the faint drone responds to patch changes and keys on the keyboard and over MIDI. Hmm...I remember experiencing thi...
