Re: Roland System-500 - Final Production Prototype Premier

They day I find myself watching a decent synth demo on the internet will be the day the world ends. Stephen This was more of a tech demo for friends of the creator of the synth. It was invite-only, it was the public premier of the final production prototypes, and it was meant to just give a good ge...

Re: Roland Boutique

So digital or analog? I just read the gear junkies specs and apperently the juno and jx are dco's. The juno and jx are using the "DCO" labeling like the original, just as the JU-08 is using the "VCO" labeling like the original Jupiter 8, but all are completely digital using Roland's same ACB techno...

Roland System-500 - Final Production Prototype Premier

This may not be too interesting for many of you, but for the Eurorack crowd, or people interested in Roland's only new 100% Analog Synth, this is an uncut, rough video of an event I attended earlier today which was the world premier of the final production prototypes of the Roland System-500 eurorac...

Re: Korg Might Be Up To Something.

So, instead of a Band-In-A-Box, you get Band-In-A-Cavern? The Cavern club in Liverpool is where the Beatles started, hence the name. Here is a video of the new cr@p arranger keyboard we now know as the Korg Liverpool. And I don't think this is the product that was initially teased as "EDM Life Synt...

Re: Korg Might Be Up To Something.

http://www.korg.com/in/ Link to the 'Liverpool Professional Arranger' leads to a (and I quote) 'Page could not found' 404 error, however. It appears to be a special edition of the Micro Arranger with a UK flag on top... Photo just leaked on the internets... http://i58.tinypic.com/281fuar.jpg

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

I find it interesting that Buchla and Moog simultaneously invented their own modular synthesizers in 1963.. Each having notable differences in timbre sound generation architecture. If you haven't seen it already, you need to check out the documentary "I Dream Of Wires" which is now available on Net...

Re: How often do you use hardware live, if at all?

its just not exciting watching someone hunched over their laptop. though, from a performers perspective, its a good way to get paid to catch up on email. :D mini It's also not exciting watching someone lurk behind a modular or a wall of keys. I'm pretty agnostic when it comes to this stuff. I own a...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

And nobody talks about the envelope auto-repeat feature , right now I have it pulsing a bass note continuously, endlessly with a bit of S/H modulating the filter. Could listen to that forever. You can have ring mod, plus the original VCO signals in the mixer together. Synths like the MS-20 mini mak...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

Key size has not been an issue for me... I had my first live performance this past Saturday as part of the " Volt Divers Experimental Synth Collective " at the Lovecraft Bar here in PDX, and my Arp Odyssey was my featured synth. I also brought along the MS-20 mini, the Volca Sample and the Moog Ther...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

My Korg Arp Odyssey finally arrived today... and now I'm officially out of room in my little downsized studio. The original Arp Odyssey MK III was the first synth I ever touched back in 1978, but could never afford, and it completely changed my life (up to that point I was a drummer and guitarist j...

Re: Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1

Here's a quick video I just did of the Korg SQ-1 sequencing the Korg MS-20 mini using both CV outs to sequence the two VCOs of the MS-20; with CV-A (VCO 1) as the Bass and CV-B (VCO 2) as the Lead. This SQ-1 is pretty fun!

Re: Korg SQ-10 vs. SQ-1

I would check the indie shops that specialize in synths; for example, I picked mine up today from Control Voltage here in Portland Oregon. They got 10 units in (now 9 left after my purchase.)
