Boss Dr-110 Snare Issue

I just recently scored a Boss Dr. Rhythm 110 for only $30 bucks with the original case. Man, this unit sounds way better than it looks, I'm thrilled. The seller let me know that there had been a AA battery leak with this unit and that some of the traces had been damaged. All has been cleaned up, and...

Re: Kawai R-100

I'm currently building a custom drum rack in Ableton to control my Kawai R-100. Each drum sound can be tuned into 16 different tunings. I'd like to be able to map each samples tuning to it's own channel on the drum rack. Ideally, this would allow me to much more easily create a sequence that plays t...

Re: Juno 60: Programming Factory Presets Bank B

I just had my JU-60 services and they guy kind of reloaded the Bank A patches (I should of clarified to leave my patches alone). I'm having difficulties loading the Bank B via my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 so I was hoping to just manually program them. Anyone find these Bank B cheat sheets yet? Partic...

Re: AX60 Pitch Bend

My AX60 has a somewhat similar problem. It seems that when the pitch bend returns to its middle position it will slightly detune the whole synth. I'm guessing that the pot may need to be recalibrated or that the bend is slightly loose and its causing the synth to think I'm bending the pitch when I'm...

Re: Broken Yamaha DX7II-D Video

Turns out that I had "Local" set to off, which should be on. All original E! patches have been sent to the unit and stay on the unit after a few days of testing. After nearly two years, I finally fixed this synth. Thank you everyone for all your help!

Case closed.

Re: Broken Yamaha DX7II-D Video

Update: Installed the clip and battery. Powered up the unit and sent it Performance INT and BUF, as well as ERAM 1, 2 and 3 for the E! card as well as 5 or so E Banks of patches. The problem is this time it seems that I successfully transferred MIDI data but for whatever reason I can't scroll throug...

Re: Broken Yamaha DX7II-D Video

I installed a new battery and clip holder two years ago, but when I tried to read it I was getting little to nothing. The clip holder I ordered did not fit into the sockets so it just two wires for the + and - and is hanging on its own. I'd like to redo this procedure with a proper battery and holde...

Re: Broken Yamaha DX7II-D Video

Errg, scratch that. It looks like the patches didn't save over night. SO I was successfully transferring a bunch of files via MIDI, it just appears that nothing saved after it being powered off..

Re: Broken Yamaha DX7II-D Video

Happy to report I finally fixed my DX7 last night. Turned out just one wire was soldered to pin 21 instead of 20 on an IC as part of the E! Upgrade. After I corrected this I successfully transferred all the factory E! patches, buf and int sysex files to the unit. Now I have an amazing DX7IID E! This...

Re: Identify this Tears For Fears Drum Sample

I just gave a -12st CR-78 clave sample with a 27ms delay.. Sounds nice, but not quite it. I think the example in "Listen" sound far better than in Mad World. Specifically that sound is what I'm trying to learn about and recreate.

Re: Identify this Tears For Fears Drum Sample

Great find Mastronaut. I'm listening to demos right now but not really hearing it. I think I may have samples of this machine at home. I'll check it out later tonight.

Re: Identify this Tears For Fears Drum Sample

How did I not realize this was right in the beginning of Mad World? Thanx! So it can't be a DX7 as The Hurting was released in 83 I believe. Any other guesses?

Re: Identify this Tears For Fears Drum Sample

I happened to find a load of Fairlight samples, and some Marimba samples that sound a little like it when pitched up and reverb applied but still not quite there. This sample pack has that exact "BassMar" sample in it too. Awesome sample packs regardless. http://sonicbloom.net/en/?s=fairlight&submit...
