Re: Casio FZ1

Graham, that's great news! I would like to get this kind of set up going at some point - outfit one of my FZs with an HxC solid state floppy drive emulator and get everything stored on it.

Re: Why are Casio CZ synth prices so high?

It seems that on Ebay the CZ-101 often goes for as much or more than other "bigger" CZ models. I attribute this to it having mini-keys which I guess lots of people find to be a selling point. Also the CZ-101 was the first and most famous model of the series. I recently picked up a CZ-1000 off Ebay f...

Re: Caustic 3 for iPad/iPhone

I just got the IOS version. I got it for android since it was first out, but then went to an iphone. I was bummed that I lost this app when I went to IOS so I'm glad to have it again. It's very cool, and somewhat like Reason....

Ha - I just finished a song with my writing partners that features Fairlight orch hit and some other stabs... The whole song was done with 80s hardware (and a little early 90s)

Check it out here:

Re: Anyone use a KORG 01/WFD?

I got an 01R/W in excellent shape, last year to replace my dead 01W/FD. The problems I encounterd with my old keyboard version were keys got sticky, buttons stopped working well, the floppy died, and the backlight faded. I believe there is a reset function that will restore the factory presets. I al...

Re: The Poly 800 Appreciation Thread

I'm considering buying one again, since I've been on this kick of re-buying all the 80's gear I once had :D It's certainly not a "great" synth, but it has a character and I think it looks pretty cool and sleek, particularly the MKII blue color scheme. At this point I can forgive the things I hated a...

Re: synths ya should have bought![new orders old pro one]

In the early-mid 80s there was a NOS minimoog sitting in a local music shop for $300. Nobody wanted it - including me - so there it sat. (well it was obsolete junk afterall  )

Re: How to connect MIDI ports without a DAW?

You need the program Midi-Ox. It has a virtual midi patchbay to do this sort of thing. I find it essential sometimes, and it's freeware.
