Re: Setting up multiple synths, sequencer and drum machine n

You've pretty much got it figured out. One item you'll want to consider is a MIDI Thru Box. Yes, you can "daisy chain" your MIDI gear running the MIDI THRU from one synth to the next synth's MIDI IN and so forth in series, but with a MIDI Thru Box, you'll send the MIDI OUT from the sequencer into t...

Setting up multiple synths, sequencer and drum machine no pc

I'm relatively new to Midi and I'm slowly starting to see how many possibilities there are. I'd like to hook up a live setup with no computer, but I'm struggling to figure out how. Hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction. Gear: - Juno 106 - Poly 800 - Poly 800 MK2 - Drum Machine (not p...

Re: Suggestions for a small line mixer to connect my synths?

Check the return policy of the place you bought it, it's not the mixer that you want. You can't plug your bass into it without losing tone, it doesn't have a high impedance input. Also Alesis build quality is pretty terrible. Return it and get one of the mackies that were mentioned in this thread. ...

Re: midi hardware arpeggiator, no computer?

^ Thank you.

Doesn't look like it has a Local Off (from a google search). That's too bad!

midi hardware arpeggiator, no computer?

I'm looking for an external arpeggiator to use with my Juno 106. I like things nice and simple, and when playing live I'm hoping to find a simple external arpeggiator I can use with the synth. I researched this, and there doesn't seem to be much out there.. Anyone know why? I found the Midipal, but ...

Re: Suggestions for a small line mixer to connect my synths?

Thanks for the advice. I heard good things about that small passive Rolls mixer. After a bunch of research I decided to go with the Alesis multimix 8 line. Has everything I need, and is simple enough. 8 channel stereo, has an effects loop, and isn't too pricey. With 8 channels I should be completely...

Re: Suggestions for a small line mixer to connect my synths?

Cool... thanks for the help. I'll be checking them out. While I'm at it, another quick question. I also play bass with the band, when I'm not on keys, and again, I swap the jacks into the amp. If I get a mixer, can I connect the synths and my bass to the mixer, then out to the amp? will a mixer betw...

Suggestions for a small line mixer to connect my synths?

I apologize in advance if this is posted in the wrong section. I have a Juno 106 and two Poly 800s that I use with my band. I plug (and unplug) each synth when using it, into my Traynor YBA-3 bass amp. It becomes a hassle when needing to unplug and replug synths into the amp while playing live. I'm ...

Re: Again: Juno or Polysix?

I flat out traded my Polysix for a Juno 106. While some may think i did a bad move (financially at least) I don't regret it. As everyone pretty much already stated, the Poly6 has more of an organic almost unpredictable sound. I wanted more of an in your face sound, and the Juno gave me exactly what ...

Re: Can't start sequencer from Poly-800 to Juno 106

From the Poly 800 service manual: Channel selection available only at RECEIVE. Note data fixed at CH 1, SEQ data at CH 2. OMNI ON until parameter 86 is called. Sends OMNI OFF, POLY ON at SEQ START Sends OMNI ON, POLY ON at SEQ STOP Most early MIDI synths powered up in OMNI mode meaning they listene...

Re: Can't start sequencer from Poly-800 to Juno 106

I have it setup the simplest way I understand it. Midi out from the p800 to midi in of the j106.

No computers or any other hardware. I use the synth with my band members and plug it into an amp.

Thanks

Can't start sequencer from Poly-800 to Juno 106

thru Midi. I'm a total Midi noob, but I was very excited to be able to use my poly 800's sequencer to on my Juno 106. However, the only way I can get it to work is if I unplug the midi cable, push on "start" on the poly 800's sequencer, then replug it in. Seems like when plugged into midi, the start...

Why are juno 106's less expensive if purchasing from Japan?

On eBay they go for about 1000$+ from the US plus shipping of about 150$.

There are some from Japan with 500$ bin prices (plus about 170$ shipping)

Any specific reason why?

(I'm in Canada if that changes anything)

Re: Gear Trading Thread

Montreal, Canada. I have a Korg Polysix with midikit installed (but not connected) I'm looking to trade. Also comes in a very sturdy and heavy metal case. The synth has been professionally tuned and cleaned by a tech. I also asked him to restore the synth to its original state by disconnecting the m...

Re: Roland JX-3p Question

Provided it works as it should I would pick it up. The programmer is more sought after than the actual synth , so worse case you can probably sell the programmer for close to the price you bought both pieces.
