What I like about that vid is to see how his ADSR has that curve to the a,d & r. It's logarithmic vs. linear.
I'm surprised there are not more vids of these in action.
Be interesting to see the analog ssm2056 vs. the uP controlled ADBSSR in my Poly800 or the ADSR in my Kawai K3.

Re: ADSR on a scope?
Oh.. using DC 'stead of AC.. I think I follow what you're saying.
About what scan rate do you think he has that at?
I'm going to try to do it to a SSM2056 this weekend.. well 6x to be exact. Just to verify they work correctly.

ADSR on a scope?
How is a scope set to display the ADSR output on say, a SSM2056 chip, like this
I'd like to try it using a Tektronix 466 100mhz w/storage ability.. but do you even need storage to do this?
the leader he used was like a 40mhz scope.

Re: Checking Kawai K3 Power supplies..
Hey, thanks for the reply.. I think I was clamped onto chassis for G. Seems I need to take some more scope pics for unfused outs and the incoming 110V. I'll get them posted this evening. According to the schematics, there are two posts from the transformer that are 0v's One below the ~9v and the oth...

Checking Kawai K3 Power supplies..
I was hoping some of you tech guru's could take a peek at some scope pics of a Kawai K3 PS. Here's a link to the thread. ( CAUTION. HUGE PICS attached to the thread. Not slow bandwidth friendly. i'll try to use smaller dpi next time I post pics here.) http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?...

Re: Question about Poly 800 mods
Moogslayer type of mods are centered around varying a 5v Control Voltage (CV) for the filter chip. The Poly800 is a hybrid digital/analog synth. The mods you see are only to adjust the analog part.. the VCF and VCA. All the other parameters are digital and entirely CPU controlled. The best way to ge...

Re: Smallest standalone MIDI keyboards???
Oh yea.. the CBXK1XG.
That would be a good candidate.. it also is velocity sensitive and is a tone generator too.

Re: Smallest standalone MIDI keyboards???
How many octaves?
Using a Highly Liquid MIDI CPU or other product, you could hack an old Casio or Yamaha mini keyboard to output MIDI notes.. even make it transpose up down by the octave or note.
Or even make your own keys using arcade buttons.

Re: DX7 patches motherload?
I noticed there were two patch files in FM Alive, but I only opened the "best of" file myself when I tried it before. Did you check out the "All" file? I did not notice those files when I had FM Alive installed. I uninstalled it after a day of use and installed the freeware version of DX Manager. i...

Re: DX7 patches motherload?
I found the easiest way to test all those soundbanks was to just use MIDIOX and set the synth to receive incoming midi. Just hit "send" and the bank is in there. I use SendSx for simple sysex monitoring/sending. FM-Alive actually let's you open up several windows of Banks. Then you just click the p...

Re: DX7 patches motherload?
PM me, I've got a shitton in a huge SysEx file I wrote a utility to strip the duplicates out of. pm sent  The DX manager gives you the same options for the pc: http://www.fm-alive.com/ I haven't tried either, but they do look promising. that is quite a nice app. I may buy it.. only $20 and...

DX7 patches motherload?
I have googled and searched on here for DX7 patches. Most of the hits from google lead to old sites with dead links. I did find a 600+patch zip download to start with, but I cant seem to find the "thousands" of patches I hear mentioned about from recent posts on here, for free download. I keep runni...

Re: TX7 RAM problems from botched expansion..
DX Manager is a decent librarian you could use - you can get the last pre-demoware version here . Thanks for the link. Not bad for free. I tried the v3 demo and it works very nicely.. it has a few more tricks. May be worth the $20 to invest in it. FM-Alive has just about remedied all the quirks I'v...

Re: njm4558s op amp replacement?
Got to the scope last nite. G is the center horiz. reticule. V/div is stated. Here's the "9v" Transformer tap. At 10v/div, it looks like it's more like around 5vAC rather than 9V that the schematics said it should be. http://i59.tinypic.com/a2ew0l.jpg this is the "0v" ac transformer tap. seems to be...
