Re: why my juno 60s sound different

Pro 5, I uploaded a Wav file. MP3 is useless in the scenario i assume I like my juno going directly to Manual Mode, both of them do, I don't understand why one would change that. If you have the cable in patch-shift, it will go to 1.1. I don't have noise issues with mine. Push all the connectors dow...

Re: why my juno 60s sound different

as long and tedious as it was, I spent my friday calibrating both boards, and repeating steps 8-9 right after each other (this is key if you want an accurate calibration) and reloading the factory patches again. I got them to sound REALLY close, and now the difference in sound is the voice board, an...

Re: why my juno 60s sound different

I'm leaning towards the first Juno 60 because it has more lows, I wish it had highs, even when i pull up the freq, it doesn't bring in the harmonics like the second one, which you can notice when it comes to the brass. Notice that the first has more body and bass, while the latter has harmonics and ...

Re: why my juno 60s sound different

Also, I am going to for sure Recap the jack board, and maybe the panel board, IF it affects sound. Does the PSU board affect the sound too?

beyond the tolerance in the schematics. A little help from somone more knowledgeable on this would really help. Pro5, post up yours Asked you to share a patch or two from your juno(s) - ie the wav file that I can load into mine via tape in, so that we are starting from the same sound. A mm of movem...

Re: why my juno 60s sound different

If you are really determined to make them sound the same, you could make sure that the power supply voltages are calibrated exactly the same in both synths then swap the CPU/voice board between the two machines and see what happens. This will at last tell you if the sonic difference is on the CPU/v...

Re: why my juno 60s sound different

Welcome to the board! I am NOT playing "flame-the-newbie". I do think you are going to have immense trouble making two vintage synths into identical twins. Here's part of the problem: Each componet in the analog path is most likely manufactured with a tolerence of +/- 20%. That alone is often enoug...
