Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Like I said over at GS...I rolled back on the highs a bit and I am pretty happy with the result. I am not going to stress about it. I was playing with it while listening to the ball game and could not hear the noise at all. I cant imagine that it would be noticed in a mix. So, the key to removing t...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini
Mine is on the truck as we speak. Unfortunately I am at work. I will probably go home for lunch, but that is a long shot. I will probably have to pick it up tonight from the UPS warehouse. Will the MS-20 mini work with the latest monotribe update and the proper cable? I got mine earlier this evenin...

Re: Favorite Mellotron performances.
I liked how progrock bands in the 70s would use the mellotron choir sound to make their crazy keyboard solos more epic. Tony Banks of Genesis did this frequently. Here's one of my favorites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KU2bOYiBX28 The Mellotron kicks in with the live footage at 1:30, but you sho...

Re: Anyone here own a Yamaha Sk30
In the demo on the first page, how did he make the bass sequence sound? It sounds like a 2VCO sound but the SK20 don't have 2 oscillators. Is it the organ section? I think it is just the poly synth. I don't really hear any of the organ section in the bass line. The thing that makes the 30 and 50 so...

Re: How many of you still have your first synth?
With the keyboard version you take the OUT of the 1st into the 2nd. With two racks it doesn't work. It works if you play the first unit from the buttons, but not from an external keyboard. I read on Korg Forums that you have to merge the OUT and THRU of the 1st until into the IN if the second. Of co...

Re: How many of you still have your first synth?
Technically i don't have my first synth anymore. It was a Korg MS2000. However I have bought 2 MS2000Rs since. I am still looking for a midi merge box so I can get the 8 poly voices thing going. I read that when using a midi controller you have to merge the out and thru on the first rack for this to...

Re: Korg Mini MS-20
Hey people. I pre-ordered this from MF on the 25th. I learned two things when I called this morning. They have about 75 pre-orders and they will apply the customer appreciation 15% off coupon...at least they did for me. So I just saved $89.85 off the $599 price. Woohoo. If you cancel and re-order yo...

Re: Best Mellotron Vst out right now
I am by no means an expert. But Mtron is awesome. It sounds great to me. I have mostly moved away from VSTs, but this one was worth paying for. I think I got it in 2005. It was the only reason I got into VSTs. I bought my first and only controller just to use with the Mtron.
