Re: Ever been tempted to sell a Jupiter 8 and buy EVERYTHING

I'm starting to care less and less for the "lesser" synths these days to cashout the JP8 for. A part of me is beginning to want to get rid of the cheaper synths and keep the heavy weights.. The only thing that I ever feel I'd consider selling the jp8 for is towards something even more expensive lik...

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Korg Kron

this is not me, but from vintagesynth comments and I thought it relevant: The Fusion is the best Synth workstation ever made bar none. I lusted for the Korg Kronos ever since it was annouced. bought one last month at GC after they had a huge price drop ($1K) had it a week and returned it. What a hu...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.

Extremely rare!! the last "10" that sold on eBay averaged $1k and less .To top it off he is selling the MOSS board in another auction. They gave the MOSS away with the purchase of a new Extreme in 2006.

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Jupiter 6

Do it! You could always start over again. By the way, I played that same synth that was mentioned earlier in the thread, at Main Drag (last summer I believe)... They also had a Prophet 5 at the same time (but that lasted a couple of weeks there only). THAT was really tempting... Yeah, something ref...

Re: Roland 64C cartridge for Juno Alpha2

I just did the battery replacement on my Juno 2 not to long ago. Its not that hard to do took about an hour , I added a battery holder to make future replacement easy. You can transmit the factory patches via a midi sequencer or easy alpha windows editor.

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Korg Kron

I have owned the Alesis Fusion 6 and 8HD. They are great values for the money and with the last OS update 1.24 most of the bugs were worked out. However there will never be a way to use a computer editor to work with the VA , FM or PM engines because the Midi spec was never fully implemented. Same g...

Re: Looking for a good 'Voice' FM synth

for epic/complex pads (that sound classy and 'expensive') - a JD-800 layered/MIDI'd with a TG77 is the best combination I've ever found. It's a combo that is the centre of my studio. The analogs (the 3P etc) are icing on the cake. Ahh the TG77!! I spent a whole day installing a nice blue LED displa...

Re: DSI announces Prophet 12!

One thing i'm a little confused by is Carson Day in two seperate video's i have watched makes it a point to say that the sub osc is for osc 1 (30 secs in the video linked here), yet Dave says its 5 osc (including sub osc) per voice for a stacked unison of 60 osc's. I think he means there are four r...

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Jupiter 6

You would be taking a big bite out of your sonic pallet giving up all that for a J6. I have had the p600 and the AX60 and while the P600's envelopes are a littler slower than what i would have idealy liked it sounded great! The AX60 while its sliders are very sensitive and its easy to move into real...

Re: looking for a VA with split keyboard and 4+ octaves.

an1x immediately came to mind. supernova is more "flexible" but an1x has a particular sound to it and can do a lot of bread'n'butter electronic sounds quite well. can be a bear to program, but the an1xedit patch editor and librarian (for windows!) is quite good. +1 on the AN1x . It's a killer VA on...

Re: Ever been tempted to sell everything and buy a Korg Kron

Nope i spent some time with a Kronos. Some very nice sounds and features yes but i was a bit underwhelmed by it and that boot up time @ over 2 minutes is a deal breaker for me. I'll stick with my Triton and its 6 sec boot time :)

Re: DSI announces Prophet 12!

It was not only a brave but also briliant choice on Dave's part to go in this direction. like he explains in his video he was after a new sound that simply could not be achived with analog dco's. Only better quaility direct demos will tell more of the story and let us see how the digital side is imp...
