Re: So I turned on my Virus A...

Virus a,b,c do not use non-volatile memory for the first two banks so you can quick-save presets. As for the battery replacement, there's this thing called google, and you could just open it and look. But I'm feeling generous, so here . Well thanks for being generous... I did that with no luck... P...

Re: contemplating selling my prophet 600

Looked around youtube for some demos today, and this one totally blew my socks off, it's the Nord lead 3. Programmed in very unusual ways, as is common with this guy. (WC Olo Garb). He is on this forum as Jexus. Kudos to him. Listen through the whole thing, he makes some seriously big and weird sou...

Re: So I turned on my Virus A...

"Why does my synth have batteries?" you might ask yourself. Patches are stored in a small amount of RAM, the same kind that's inside your computer. This being RAM (random access memory) means it needs to have power to retain information, else it's whiped the moment you switch off your computer/synt...

So I turned on my Virus A...

...and the damned thing went bonkers!!! It asked me if I wanted to restore banks A and B to factory settings and the Multi section to factory... I said no, and then the display and patches looked like alien lettering!!! Then, I did a factory reset... So, my question is has anyone ever experienced th...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Didn't read the entire thread, but Jeremy Schmidt from Solina Caves / Black Mountain did an amazing score for Beyond The Black Rainbow. If you have not seen the film or heard Solina Caves I stronly suggest such an action.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1ertVYn750 I think you mean Sinoia Caves. ...

Re: contemplating selling my prophet 600

I'm still feeling like the Nord may not be what you're looking for. It is very sterile. I have had both the 2 and the 2x and sold both within 3 months of owning them. Very harsh and gritty synths. The PolySix is an awesome bit of kit, but it is limited. I'd say go for that one for sure! But, this is...

Re: contemplating selling my prophet 600

Sorry lol correction I don't like the raw(meaning no FX or modulation on it) not the describing the texture of the sound... The virus TI has no character on the plain osc. The raw oscillator of the P600 sounds RAW... haha. The Raw osc of the virus TI sounds lame. Haha.. the oscillators must have ch...

Re: contemplating selling my prophet 600

maybe your right. I think Im gonna go for a Nord and another synth... maybe polysix I own a virus ti too, but I don't like the Raw Oscillator sound, it turns me off to making sounds...So the only complicated synth I own to create sounds is the p600. I was making a sound where one osc was going, and...

Re: New tune... sit back and relax...

never got around to getting that blunt, so I listened anyway. really spacey stuff, sounds like a resoundtrack to a sci-fi B-movie from the 70's/80's....and I mean that as a compliment. Thanks a lot! I feel like my sound has developed into what it will be from here on out.... and I'm 110% cool with ...

Re: contemplating selling my prophet 600

I'm of the opinion that hardware VA's are in general not worth having unless you need them to perform live. Aye, the Virus A... she's warm beauty she is.... I felt the Nord 3 sounded the best outta the three. But not as good as a P600. Find another to swap for. I hated the stairstepping on my P600...
