Re: 4 Keyboards that complement each other?

I'm not so sure that having a lot of gear would be a bad thing since you can obviously see that people like Hans Zimmer has absolutely no problem designing and composing music on a frequent basis. How often do you think he's cracking out the modulars compared to how often he's just sitting at his (...

Re: 4 Keyboards that complement each other?

When I had the "massive setup" I consistently had composer block. Never failed... The I took a break. Sold all of my gear except for a eurorack modular and a polysynth. Now, I own something I thought I wouldn't ever have: a ROMpler. And, I'm very surprised it fits in well with my other kit! I'm not ...

Re: Some thoughts on the Arp Odyssey

I think, and I didn't read the entire thread, you should give it time. I had a pristine white face Odyssey that was semi modular patch modded by CMS and it took a while to find where it would sit in my rig, but I realized trying to forcefully place it was pointless. It can scream, or it can sing lik...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini

FWIW there is an eBayer who builds and sells an SQ10 clone, along with other moderately priced sequencer. I don't have any experience with them but the buyers seem happy at least... http://www.ebay.com/itm/MS100X1A-10-Channel-Analog-Sequencer-Plus-USA-Custom-Built-2012-Korg-SQ10-Clone-/370653747102...

Re: synths: more with less OR less with more?

I had at one point a massive setup. 4 Synth.com modular cabs full, SE atc-1's, Quasimidi Polymorphs, Nords, Viruses (still have one A), etc.. At times I would find myself sitting there just staring at them with nothing coming out.... Then I sold it all. Now that I have 4 main synths and a handful of...

Re: Korg MS-20 Mini

I can't imagine an SQ-10 would be hard to do now. Yeah, with technology the way it is at the moment an SQ-10 with various sync options could be done by a company like Korg for a couple of hundred bucks. I reckon you'd want to ditch the original's form factor and make it a smaller thing that could s...

Re: Favorite IOS Synths

Rather than re-edit my last post, with NanoStudio, the synth engine (Eden Synth) you have the ability to modulate the rate of one LFO with another, kinda like a modular. PLUS you can import your own wav files and use them as voices in the synth/drumpads. It's quite confusing at first but I think it ...
