Re: two thousand six hundred mini meanie

Maybe not, not going to lie i have never had the privilege using or hearing one first hand - still think it sounds like an interesting semi modular analog. Ha also I'm a bit of a sucker for diy pcb kits

Re: New Elektron box--Analog Four

You can switch sounds using parameter locks to have multiple drum sounds on one track as long as you don't need them to sound on the same beat. I was considering going for a used cheap monomachine for my next purchase till I saw that tidbit in the sonicstate/elektron vid on YouTube - so sold on buy...

Re: Hybrid Synths - cheaper poly analog?

Every time I look at the jx3p I feel so jilted. I got mine years ago for like eighty bucks, now when I look for them on Ebay they fetch quite a bit more. Same goes for sequential circuits six trak, that's an analog poly that I really enjoyed the sound of that could be had for cheap like six years ag...

Re: Synth Studio On A Budget thread to sticky?

Considering the number of threads I see in any gear nerd forum that are basically "I'm new tell me what to buy on a budget" I don't think it's a bad idea to sticky this on the buyers guide section. The only fault I could see is everyone has different goals for what they make. That being said for a g...

Re: Hybrid Synths - cheaper poly analog?

Dave Smith Tetra with a midi keyboard would be a good pick for analog poly under a grand... Oh and that being said - yeah there are differences in timber between analog and digital but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You can get an ms2000 for a decent price, and no it won't sound like an 80s pol...

Re: So why is the MPC renaissance like $1000?

I feel like maschine made its success, in that it was inspired by the MPC, but also offered something completely new. The renaissance is good looking hardware but the fact is, it is trying to play catch up with software that's better made and had more development. I'm clearly not anti software but h...

Re: So why is the MPC renaissance like $1000?

They should have made an mpc1000 mk2, it'd be the only way I'd get rid of my current MPC. New pads, slimmer profile and battery power like an MPC 500 and virus ti like integration with daws. I mean just as a controller it blows every generic pad controller out of the water in quality. The renaissanc...

having a bunch of stuff that you can work with to get the sound in your head out easily is really nice and of course the happy accidents you get are icing on the cake.

I think this is most peoples point right here
