I would have gladly given him 50 bucks for that guitar. It's his own fault that he's never heard of Gibson guitars before and was too lazy to do his homework before selling it. Just my opinion of course.

Re: Last remaining good value analogue poly synths?

The most shocking synth inflation I've seen lately are the Poly-61 and JX-8P. They used to be dirt cheap 5 years ago and regularly sold for $200-300 on ebay. The Polysix and Juno 6/60 always commanded higher prices because of their superior sounding filters, but now that price gap is shrinking. I ju...

Re: PROPHET 6 VERSUS NORD WAVE VERSUS NORD LEAD 3

A sub37 and prophet 6 would compliment your other gear nicely, especially if you're going for famous analog synth sounds to round out your collection. Do you play live? What kind of music are you making?

Mini keys + midi breakout cable = fail

Is it just me or does Yamaha's target audience appear to be indie singer/songwriter chicks?

Re: Yamaha Reface

Jeez for $500, count me out. I'll just stick with the TG77 that I got for $200 if I want FM sounds...not to mention decent piano, organ and analog synth emulations. :thumbright:

Re: Yamaha Reface

I'd get the new DX over a DX100. I like how quick the editing looks for FM and it sounds really good. The YC would be fun to mess around with too, it has a good interface for a small organ. Both would be tempting to get if under $400 each. But then again I'd rather stick to my plan of replacing a bu...

Re: Yamaha Reface

Don't get me wrong, tiny toy keyboards have their place...I have a CZ-101 after all. And I'll even buy one of these if the price is right. I was just hoping for something a little more...inspired, professional, I dunno. A new synth with a lot of features that one could really dive into. This was a s...

Re: Yamaha Reface

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0vbmFrnLFI :D :D Hilarious. You read my mind. To be completely honest, this offering from Yamaha is downright disappointing. Portable plastic keyboards with digital sound engines. This new line was created with poor teenagers and hobbyists in mind. I hope they have ...

Re: Best Digital Synth to Compliment Analog Setup

Yes, keys is a must! Anyone know if there is a Roland JV expansion withe D50 sounds? It sounds like what you really need is a V-Synth with VC-1 card. You'll get a D-50 emulator and the original D-50 sound sets, plus an extremely flexible synth with sampling. It'll cost you more like $1000, well wor...

Re: which analog synths complement your modern digital setup

I can cover a lot of analog ground with just my Mono/Poly and JX3P. I'm selling most of my other gear to fund a Korg Kronos. After that, I look forward to finally building a modular setup.

Re: how to vintage your synth

The beer brush was my favorite part...very artistic. I don't think the video was really supposed to be all that "funny", it was intended to shock viewers into seeing how ridiculous it is to artificially age a brand new instrument. And to that end, it served it's purpose well. I also feel the practic...
