Re: #Selfie Synth

I think this thread has just cracked the "Top 10 strangest VSE threads" of all time. We just need to bring in another two or three different topics, change the whole tone up a few more times -- we need at least one more "serious" topic here, and ideally a few people getting upset -- and this thing ...

Re: DSI speculation

Dave has already done the 4 voice and mono thing. I would have to agree with above about 6 voices. But judging from the photo, that keyboard is no more than 3 octaves.. 6 Voice, Multi-timbral, with awesome sequencer (remember, Dave said he doesn't like having to click a mouse and move things around ...

Re: VSE Disco competition VOTING THREAD

Dirty Disco did it for me! I liked the groove in that one the best. The addition of the guitar was nice too!

The other entries were cool also, but, DD really made me want to get down and boogie with an early 80's hot chick, in her skin tight Jordache jeans!

Re: #Selfie Synth

Mostly I just think it's kind of hilarious how you seem to think I'm some kind of hate gremlin derailing every single thread about something I don't like to be about how much I hate it, yet you yourself display something like five million times as much vitriol as I ever do when posting about how mu...

Re: Dave Smith and Roger Linn on Hardware vs Software

Holy s**t! You guys need to relax and take a chill pill! Some of these threads turn in to martial art tournaments quickly.. I think hardware versus software synths, just boil down to personal preference. I thought it was interesting to hear the opinions of a couple of the early pioneers in the indus...

Re: Dave Smith and Roger Linn on Hardware vs Software

Do you know how Stuka dive-bombers made that howling sound? That's right, Reason. Yes that's right.. Hans-Ulrich Rudel, the lone recipient of the Golden Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds, did mention the use of Reason in his book, "Stuka Pilot". I am now beginning to see the historical origins of you...

Re: Dave Smith and Roger Linn on Hardware vs Software

Godwins law on the second page already? Good job. I had not heard of Godwin's law.. I had to look it up. Interesting stuff: Godwin's law - "if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or Nazism." "Fo...

Re: #Selfie Synth

But as Seventhstar stated, it really captures the mood of dim-witted girls looking for attention however they can get it. "Go f**k your #selfie," as printed on their t-shirts is a pretty plain message IMHO. My, someone is up very late, make that two someones lol. What you stated is exactly why I fi...

Re: Dave Smith and Roger Linn on Hardware vs Software

Anyone who uses softsynths is a Nazi. End of argument. A Synth Nazi! I don't know if that term would specifically apply to soft synth users.. But I do think there just may be a few Synth Nazis on this forum.. The most amazing things, and terminologies, come to fruition on this forum. "Synth Nazi". ...

Who here on this forum likes this track? Show hands. Me.. I especially like the Selfie Girl, but I guess I'm kind of a sucker for a pretty face. And I've always been fascinated with the high-speed link between the female mind and the female mouth. Random thoughts are often processed at giga-flop pe...

Dave Smith on MIDI History

Dave Smith talks about the creation of MIDI, in this 1997 interview. And how most synth manufactures, back in the day, couldn't agree on a standard and thought it would require expensive componentry to be effectively utilized. Roland, Korg, Yamaha and Kawai were the only companies that had enough fo...
