Re: sh 101 over juno 60 bass would you.

I don't see the point in buying a sh101 if you have a Juno 60 unless you have a ridiculous amount of money or can find one for an exceptionally low price.

Save your money.

Re: Best Synth Teacher

[Reason is] kinda cool since you can connect the synths yourself etc., so it taught me a lot about "studio" thinking as well. Same here. But I learned most of what I know about subtractive analog synthesis from the synths in FL studio. There's still some stuff I don't fully understand, if i'm hones...

Soulsby synthesizers Atmegatron vs. Cyclone Analogic TT-303

This one I would qualify as a sort of "Clash of the $500 Niche Synthesizer Modules" Soulsby Atmegatron https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLzhEM7xrdg Yes, this is one of the better YT clips for this as of now. . . A unique interface that just might work well combined with an intriguing sound make this ...

Re: In whose synth studio would you like to be fly on the wa

Can I add one more?--it's a pretty obvious one--Abbey Road studios between 1963-1976. So many brilliant musicians recorded there in this time.

By the way, I realize one wouldn't exactly call Abbey Road studio a "synth" studio.....so I may be slightly off-track here. 8-)

Don't worry, we'll always have Raymond Scott and his Electronium for our pre-synth electronic music cravings! :D

Re: In whose synth studio would you like to be fly on the wa

As a fly on the wall you cannot interfere! touche. Ok then here's my choice--Tom Waits' studio during the Mule Variations studio sessions. Mainly because while it's not the first time Tom recorded with Primus, it is the first time it was for his own album . I find it entertaining to imagine...

So it's......analog? Digital?

I know there's probably never been a dedicated digital string machine, but at the same time i'm not seeing many parameters I associate with analogs....

Re: Poll: how do you feel about pirated/cracked DAW software

Moderator hat on: Please be careful what you post in this thread, anything supporting use of pirated software will be deleted. Let me be clear: I don't condone the use of pirated software. I'm just curious as to how widespread the use/abuse of it is. I'm not trying to be controversial or anything.....

warming up a mix?

Just wondering if anybody has any particularly useful tips for warming up the overall sound of a track. My mixes are sounding a bit sterile and almost every time I try to warm them up I overdo it & end up with a murky-sounding mix. I could use the input from this forum. :D
