Re: Analog Polyphony

Nice infographic! :D So it is very difficult for analog synths to have true polyphony (with the cost of components) - but for digital synths I'm guessing they just have to create algorithms that have their own signal path to achieve true polyphony? Hardware wires - vs binary blips and blops essentia...

Re: Ultimate DX7 sounds

Hey Rokk, Really nice vids - great job on the programming. I got my DX7ii-FD a little while ago, it is perfect condition (previously owned by a church). It also came with a massive book called the Complete DX7II by Howard Massey (as well as the original manual), and a flight case! I read a fairbit o...

Re: In whose synth studio would you like to be fly on the wa

awww - I can't choose just one!

OK - if I had to ... it would be Jean Michel Jarre

Then here is my list of the rest that I'd love to see:

Vangelis
New Order
Depeche Mode
Georgio Morodor
Kraftwerk
NiN
Peter Gabriel
Laurie Anderson
Robert Miles
... I can't stop typing ... so there's more ..

Re: Do i need 2 phaser pedals for my stereo synthesizer?

I love phasers. I have 3 phaser pedals: EHX Small Stone, Boss PH-1r and Vintage Phaser (Behringer) - the last one being "average" - the first two being awesome. I also have a digital phaser in my Lexicon MX-200 - but I don't really like it - it sounds the same as the fake phasers in built-in FX that...

Re: Brand New Vp770 for .... !!!!!

that's a great purchase - want to share where you got it or is that Roland's worldwide pricing, and we can demand it at any Roland retailer? I suspect their new AIRA VT-3 (being so cheap) is going to make the VP770 seem expensive to the uneducated, but we all know there's a massive difference under ...

Re: Difference Between Digital and Virtual Analog Synths?

It's a name attached to a vague set of ideas. A bit like Paraphonic, can someone explain that at some point? Paraphonic vs Polyphonic vs Monophonic - is what I guess you're asking? Paraphonic synths are similar to polyphonic synths in the sense that they can make multiple sounds/voices/notes. Howev...

Re: Just played the MicroBrute , my impressions....

All you need now is a Minibrute to go with it! Seriously, the two are brilliant together.

Check out the review Marc did. Kudos to Marc - he does brilliant reviews - and if this doesn't spur you to buying a minibrute - well ... nothing will :P

Re: Synth acquisition situation!

I'm also thinking of getting an Access Virus TI2 - they are pricey - but everyone who owns them say its the synth that changed their setup. I need that synth! So, if you can't afford a Virus TI2 - then get the TI. Also, I've seen Virus B's/Indigo's go for some really good prices now. Perhaps you cou...

Re: Speculation time!

I also think it will be a Poly. I would dearly love to see a 2 oscillators with sub 1, 2 filters (with routing) and 2 LFOs - if you can pack in more, than great! I think the control surface has to offer memory, so digital is the only way? There has to be MIDI, CV and USB connectivity, and Patch memo...
