Re: Help Identyying synth used on childrens album

I'm aware of these videos, as I am a father, and we purchased them for our first child around 2003. Baby Einstein was the brain child of Julie Aigner-Clark. The early videos were just done by her and her husband. The Bach video was done in 1998 - and it was still only her and her husband. This was p...

Utopia - a DAWless track with video :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0z66xrZuJQ A DAWless track. Video shows the central sequencer pairing to the various gear used on each sequence, with a car journey in the foreground. Hopefully it is an interesting take instead of just watching synths and buttons. Gear used: Akai MPC Live as the br...

I have the book also - and I can't remember if there was a floppy disk somewhere with this? Let me poke around. I've also got the original DX7II-FD manual :)

Re: Boutique SH01a ...Pretty nice.

It probably is the best boutique to be honest - for 4 reasons: 1) It sounds like an SH-101 (without being pedantic, it is pretty close) 2) It has 4 voices polyphony - so it is bigger than a mono synth 3) It has an awesome sequencer, I love it! 4) It can sound like a Juno : [youtube]https://www.youtu...

Chiptunes - Roland A-01 recreating a classic C64 game tune

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHt6iR3sDFk I've been using the C64 since way back in the early 80s. I can't escape it - but the music has influenced me - and today I still find myself reaching for that Square Wave or using a stack of PWM! In this vid - I've gone and recreated the famous Commando t...

Re: Synth sound issue

Could be the battery.

Failing that, it could be the AMP circuit.

Re: Volca FM- technical issues.

A few things you could try:

To check if POLY is on - use FUNC + POLY (Key #1)

To check if ARP is on - use FUNC + ARP ON/OFF (Key #5)

for the sequencer - just clear it with Func + Erase

see how that goes :)

Re: Are software synths disposable instruments?

These days with computers able to run virtual machines and emulations - there's nothing stopping us from using retro old computers with software synths. Just putting that out there - and sorry if it has already been mentioned, but I'm lazy and didn't read all the replies. However, my big personal ta...

Re: What Synth Sound Is This?

the synth part is just a sawtooth waveform going through a distortion/overdrive FX - you could easily achieve this with almost any analog or digital synth. the plucking sound, i'm thinking it might be a sample or drum machine (which usually uses samples). You could recreate this using a synth - but ...

Custom MIDI mapping to the JD-XI using SYSEX

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mg6XIXQdViU I've just finished a video that shows how to setup custom sliders and kobs to control the Roland JD-XI synthesizer with the A-500 Pro MIDI controller. I'm specifically using SYSEX messages to control things like AMP and Filter Envelopes, Aftertouch, toggl...

Re: What is your favorite Phaser FX for synths?

Spent many many hours scouring the internet listening to demos trying to find a good sounding low budget option. I finally decided on the Russian Smallstone, red and black. Sounds great with my string synths! :D https://medias.audiofanzine.com/images/normal/electro-harmonix-small-stone-russian-6533...

It's actually really easy. Just make sure you order the correct part from Yamaha (I put a link/info to it in the description on the video).
