Re: sh 101 over juno 60 bass would you.

I've been looking at OB-Xa's pondering that.

Re: When will we see a new (non-DSI) analog poly?

I wouldn't say that mono's are better than polys. That's crazy talk. I'm good at crazy talk. I prefer monos because of the sad thing that happens to synthesizers when you make them polyphonic. There is no reason why a synthesizer should play 4 or 6 or 8 carbon copies of the timbres, pitches, etc. y...

Little Phatty and Sub Phatty. ;) :P

Re: sh 101 over juno 60 bass would you.

I just sold my car and am fighting the urge to say screw it and buy vintage synthesizers instead of another car. :P The Bass Station II might make for a good choice like someone else mentioned. Seems to offer a lot of flexibility in an affordable package. For what they go for used it's tempting to p...

Re: Roland JX10 V3.0

For some reason I was thinking the Jupiter was made longer than it was, though counting the MKS-80 I guess it was. Yeah, limited CPU would make sense given the envelope speed. Anyhow, this is probably one of the more exciting things for me as I could really care less about MIDI and what not.

Re: Roland JX10 V3.0

Though the JX has two oscillators with chorus. Who knows, maybe they did it as to not potentially hurt Jupiter and Juno sales. Regardless hopefully this fix is out soon as the JX is one of my favourite synths and it'd just be the icing on the cake so to speak.

Re: Sticky Keys

While you're in there or have a tech in there mod it with a lithium coin cell battery to retain memory, then it'll be more worthwhile.

Re: Roland JX10 V3.0

They didn't want it to sound too massive, yes that's it. I don't buy cost, look at all of the features it did have. Implementing PWM wouldn't have really cost much more as it'd be more a matter of software than hardware per se.

Re: Sticky Keys

Most techs go by bench hours, so at best you're paying for an hour. So anywhere from $60-100 depending on their rates. Which quite honestly is pretty much silly to pay someone only to open it up and most likely just pop the spring back in. It's one of the easiest things to repair that can go wrong. ...

Re: Sticky Keys

Most likely it's from a key spring popping out, only way to know is to open it up and look.

Re: if i had one synth question

If you want something that'll do most of it all, then a Fantom, Motif, or Triton is what you'll be wanting. Also are you wanting a keyed unit, or will a rack unit suffice? The Fantom XR or Motif ES/XS racks would be good, also the Korg M3. Ehh, if you're needing to keep it under $500 the XV-5080 is ...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

Sliders or potentiometers isn't really going to swing cost much one way or the other, just depends on the quality of the components. I'd like for it to be full-size, but the 86% MS-20 mini size wouldn't be a deal breaker either. My KX5 has actual mini-keys and after about an hour of playing around i...

Re: Korg to release ARP Odyssey

I'm thinking it'll be closer to the MS-20 Mini in price, especially if it's also made in China. Really comes down to that more than anything, if it's made in Japan I could see it being $1,000+.

Re: Roland JX10 V3.0

I've always wanted a JX-10 just due to my love for the JX-8P, if it gets at least PWM I'll have to run out and buy one for sure.
