Re: Ultra-newbie question: output for multiple synths in one

Are the synths you are going to be using mono or stereo? The M-240 looks like a decent unit but (unless I am missing something) it doesn't look like it has any EQ. If you aren't looking to expand your set up much past the 2 synths and guitar it may be worth considering a mixer with less channels but...

Re: Thoughts on the CZ-5000

The only reason why you might not want to get the CZ-5000 would be if you wanted to hold out and find a CZ-1 instead, however you may even find that you would prefer the sequencer to the velocity sensitivity capabilities of the CZ-1. CZ-1 = Performance daddy of the range, velocity and after touch ke...

Re: Synths/Samplers with LCD upgrades

I did the same thing with my Casio CZ-101. Again just a standard 16x2 HD44780 cost about £3 delivered. I fitted it a while ago now and I think the only complications were reversing the pin lay out and introducing a couple of jumpers for the power. Some people fashioned a brand new mounting bracket h...

Re: Casio CZ-1000/101 memory battery mod?

I've recently installed this mod on my CZ-101 and it seemed to work initially however after perhaps 2 weeks the unit again lost its memory. Does the AC adapter need to be unplugged from the unit when not in use for this mod to work? I couldn't work out why that should be the case but if that is what...

Re: The great thread of electronic/synthesizer soundtracks

Some really cool stuff on this list but noticed that no one had mentioned any of Cerrone's soundtrack work. It is generally much more synthetic than his studio albums of the era, most likely due to the necessity of recording them quickly and on a small budget but moments of the soundtrack to the 2nd...

Re: Tuning a sequential Six Trak voice?

I know this is a very old thread but I am experiencing a very similar problem with my Six Trak. Using the Test Routine I have identified that voice 2 is consistently tuned significantly lower than the other 5 voices however the routine only seems to describe how to identify any tuning discrepancies ...

Re: External LFO to Modulate Moog Phatty Filter

The MicroBrute is a great shout, I hadn't even considered something like that. I wouldn't be building a whole system though if I did go the DIY route I would just build that module, I wouldn't even build the whole module rather a 3rd of it just for 1 LFO. Then put it in a little box with a PSU, woul...

Re: External LFO to Modulate Moog Phatty Filter

Thanks for the suggestions, obviously looks like a CP251 would work and offer a ton of extra options on top but I can't justify spending that kind of cash just for a bonus LFO. I am looking more at much less comprehensive and expensive options like the possibility of building a single LFO circuit fr...

External LFO to Modulate Moog Phatty Filter

I have had a Slim Phatty for over a year now and I love the sound, however one thing that I find annoys me about the instrument is that the single LFO can not be used to modulate more than one thing at a time, be that pitch, filter etc... It has only just recently struck me that an external LFO set ...

Juno-60, Faulty Sub Osc on one voice.

I have had a Juno-60 for a number of years and ever since I first purchased it it has had an issue with a broken sub osc on one of the voices. A quick analysis in test mode revealed that it was sub osc 6 that was not responding. I had been putting up with this annoyance until a couple of weeks ago w...

Re: Korg poly800(v1) vs Roland juno106

As someone who until very recently owned a Poly-800 and who also owns a Juno-60 (which I know is not identical to the 106 but close enough to draw a comparison for the purposes of this thread) I am of the opinion that the 800 really does not match up too favourably to the Juno60/106. On the plus sid...

Re: Moog Little/Slim Phatty oscillator sync question

As you are already using the Filter Envelope as a Mod Source I don't think there is any way to execute this further modulation within the Moog alone, you could probably manage to set up some kind of MIDI CC control over the Osc Frequency if you are working with some kind of DAW but beyond that I'm n...

Re: SCI Six Trak - Battery Replacement Nightmare

Hi, thanks for the reply however the errors in operation that I experienced here went well beyond simply losing the memory, Indeed I was aware that I would lose all the patches which is why I wanted to change the battery as soon as I got the synth rather than after making some patches I might want t...

SCI Six Trak - Battery Replacement Nightmare

I have placed this thread in help as it seems to be the best place to put it but as you will see the problem is already resolved, yet I remain interested to hear if other people had a similar experience. I have only just joined the forum as this problem has perplexed me so, so I hope you will forgiv...
