Re: My Micromoog is blowing fuses!

So if you unhook the PSU from the mainboard the fuses still blow? The shorting component is then in the psu, most probably. Good thinking. best of luck. OK, new diode is in and new fuses in, fired it up. The fuses are still alive!!!......and a new problem...I plug the audio out to the pa and try to...

Re: My Micromoog is blowing fuses!

I googled "micromoog tantalum" and came across this thread: https://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17636 You still won´t get better advice from other than the late KL. Cheers. Thanks for the read! Very interesting. I ended up taking out the power board and started testing the diodes. All t...

Thanks a bunch Mooger5! You nailed it! I am now looking at a fully functional Moog Taurus 1. A couple of the contact springs could be bent back but other than that its ready to go!

Moog Taurus 1 Filter problems

Hi everyone, back again with the same Moog Taurus 1 that i thought I all the way fixed. Well everything IS except the 3 "contour faders" in the filter section. At this point they seem to be doing absolutely nothing. All the way up and all the way down, just nothing. I looked up the "Tom Sawyer" sett...

Re: My Micromoog is blowing fuses!

another clue, I popped in 2 more fuses and unplugged the socket coming from the transformer to the power supply board. Fuses didn't pop and I am getting 20V off of the power supply. I hope this helps and can help someone tell me something.

My Micromoog is blowing fuses!

Hi everyone! I went on a craigslist hunt for a guitar and ended up finding a dusty old keyboard tucked away in a corner on the way. This keyboard was a Micromoog, which I got as is and untested. Cosmetically it was in super condition so it was worth a gamble. I bring it home, fire it up, and get not...

Re: Moog Taurus 1 help (no output)

No signal at pin 6 of A301? Apart the usual suspects (dry joints) it could be something as simple as calibrating the VCA Balance trimmer R303. Or a loose wire around the Foot Loudness potentiometer R301. Or the pot itself. If it´s behaving right there should be a tiny change in voltage across pin 5...

Re: Juno 106 voices 5 and 6 won't play.

I did some more poking in the Juno 106 today and I got another clue. I used an audio probe and poked around on the voice chips. I got sound on pin 1 of all of the voice chips. I got sound on pin 9 of all of the voice chips ACCEPT voices 5 and 6. Not sure if this really tells anyone anything but I gu...

Re: Juno 106 voices 5 and 6 won't play.

One quick thought is that there is an issue with control voltages to the VCAs or VCFs on these voices. I'll look at that part of the schematic tonight. If you prove the outputs of the wave generators, do you see or hear anything there? Thanks cornutt! I am still working on it. Since my last post i'...

Juno 106 voices 5 and 6 won't play.

Hi everyone, I have been repairing juno's for about a year now but have never ran into this problem and I currently have no idea how to fix it. Everything on the synth works EXCEPT voices 5 and 6 won't sound. Here's what I have done and do know: -I have replaced the voice chips with known good chips...

Re: My Juno 60 is dead. Any help?

μC = microcontroller. Both IC14 and IC56 serve equally important functions, and neither depends on the other to operate, so I wouldn't call either a main CPU, in this case, even though one is on the "CPU board" and the other isn't. But your thinking is the direction I was going -- if either wasn't ...

Re: HELP Roland Juno 106 3rd voice plays double note

ic14 is a vca. the control current goes from tr22 to pin1, so it´s probable ic14 is ok. if tr22 and vr32 are ok there´s a chance the vca is not getting the control current. I don´t have the service notes here atm, but there are 2 chips before vr32, a 4051 and an opamp. follow the path and check for...
