Wah! No way! :o My mental health is kinda important to me.

I have an assembler lined up for automated assembly. I'll just have to glue the switch slider guard in place by hand, and of course test the cards.

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

Submit your contact data here to be informed about the card release! Yes, submit and tell your friends, because guess who just ordered twenty panels of six cards each! The circuit boards will take about a month to manufacture and ship; in the meantime I can prepare card assembly over here...

Re: Auto-loading samples on the Roland XV-5080

And does anyone happen to know if the XV-5080 prodides enough power over SCSI to power the device, or will I have to resort to an external power supply? The SCSI bus has no power lines at all, so that's a fairly clear no ;) You might be able to sneak some power off of the internal power supply thou...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

I see a few comments above this that you're in email exchange regarding production and thought that maybe you'd be interested in a show of hands from us silent watchers to get an idea of where the interest in the card stands at present, so: :::raises hand::: Heheh, thanks :D I do believe you guys a...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

Tubefex is still dead in it's deep roots. It kindly says hello when you power it on, but it is one big shy guy. Don't want to speak, sing, or give any voice ;) It's DSP chip what is suspected to be failed. Aw, damn! Sorry to hear that :( I feel it necessary to stress to the rest of the thread that ...

It certainly is! I'm currently working through setting up a production run (which is more emailing back and forth than I anticipated).

Help needed: VG-8 for debugging

Okay, I need your help. Turns out the Rev.C cards don't work in VG-8 yet, so I need to get hold of a VG-8 to investigate the problem. If I'm lucky this is only a filter issue, but I need actual hardware in my lab to figure it out. Anyone in Germany, possibly close to Stuttgart, who would be willing ...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

2. (aimed towards DoJoe) As I own equipment which either takes M256E (D70) or M512E (A-90) cards, would it be possible to create the switch mechanism in such a way to either emulate multiple M256E or multiple M512E cards? No, mixing sizes is not possible, only 8x512 or 16x256. Any synth that takes ...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

Hey Alex, thanks for all the feedback! =) I noticed that on e-bay and some places are M512E cards for sale. Yes expensive, BUT these can be used as 2x256E cards with a simple hack! (yes, like You bought 2x256E cards). Yeah, that will work but it ain't for the faint of heart ;) I'm not sure how many ...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

Any release date of the final product yet? I had to take a pretty long hiatus due to the day job being super demanding lately, but that's just in the process of petering down again and I started getting the layout ready for the production run. Unfortunately, that means I'm certainly going to miss m...

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

Finally got my PM-16 back and the result..... ehhh, not working. Aw, too bad :( I guess things like wiggling the card or using a bit more force didn't help? According to the manual, the PM-16 needs an M-128 or higher, so your M-256 configuration should work fine. The manual says to insert the card ...

Hey, thanks heaps for the testing, and also for the photos! :D The GR-50 will make a nice new addition to my compatibility chart! \o/

Too bad about the Tubefex though :-( How willing are you to break out a scope and multimeter and investigate? ;)

Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

I'd be interested in one of these for my Akai MX-76. Of course I'd be happy to test for you. :) I live in Sweden, by the way. Hey, thanks for volunteering. Unfortunately, I might not have enough beta cards left to get you one for testing, but I'll get back to you if things turn out otherwise. That ...
