Re: Alesis Ion problems

Honestly, just opening it up and cleaning it out may help a lot. I was having very much the same problems with my microkorg until I opened it up and went to town with some cleaning cloths, rubbing alcohol, and keyboard duster.

Re: DX11/Microkorg noise pop stuff

The volume level of the drums is quite low, so I increased my headphones volume, and the saw part almost blew my ears off when introduced. This made me laugh really hard, sorry. The timing of the keyboard playing is an issue throughout. That's like an issue of "I don't really have a good way of hea...

DX11/Microkorg noise pop stuff

So the other day I banged out this little tune with a few keyboards I had lying around, mostly to test out my new mixer and I wanted to try out doing a song with only hardware. The result was this simple little noisy-pop thing (which is actually a lot more pop than noise). https://soundcloud.com/the...

Re: Microkorg malfunctions

Update for anyone who may have this problem in the future: I opened up my unit hoping there'd be an obvious problem (man, are these things a pain to get open), but nothing looked out of place and it wasn't unusually dusty, so I just hit it with some keyboard duster and cleaned the board with rubbing...

Microkorg malfunctions

So, for reasons I can't discern, my microkorg is having an issue. Sometimes, when I turn the unit on, there will be a short delay before the display lights up. If I switch patches/parameters, there will also be a short delay. If I try to play it, either no sound will come out, or I will occasionally...

Digital hardware vs. VST

Dumb noob question, sorry. Is there really any reason any fully digital hardware synth couldn't be translated to a VST? Is there any good reason you couldn't have, say, a DX7 or an Alesis Ion in VST form? Surely a good, up-to-date computer is more capable than whatever they shoved inside of a microk...

Cheapo Rackmount Synths?

Just out of curiosity, what are some fun rackmount synthesizers/samplers/ROMplers/whatever that can be had on the low low (let's just go with sub $200, but flexible)? By fun, I mean make cool and/or dumb (but amusing) sounds, are interesting to tweak and play with, and/or are flexible/actually useful.

Omnichord chord hold not working, various other things

So I recently came into possession of a "fully functional" Suzuki Omnichord OM-84 on the cheap (I know, shame on me for not being more thorough when I tried it out, ect.), and the chord hold function has some problems. Half the time, it works, but only when the playback/record button is being held d...

Physically largest? Like a korg triton or something with a huge footprint like that?
Exactly. Something that'll just eat half a room.

I'm reading this whole thread and I didn't know an entire group of people could be this wrong.

The blue LED minimoog voyager? That is THE aesthetic.
