Re: Shamelessly digital synth to pair with analog?

I've never owned/used one of the synths you mentioned so I cannot comment, I'm sure that there will be other forum users that will do it... Anyway, while I was reading your questions, I immediately thought at the Roland JD990, I have played a JD800 for many years and when I'm thinking at a digital s...

Re: Just received a Korg Sigma for free!!

Thank you Psy! Yes, detuning is nice, looks like this synth has surely some strenghts between its limitations... Just noticed that the keyboard sensor switch (the one with I , I+S, S), is partially loosen, I cannot accurately switch between the 3 positions, I will try to repair it: has anyone experi...

Re: Just received a Korg Sigma for free!!

Lucky you. It can do some fairly unique things, and the aftertouch function is nice to have Just discovered the aftertouch, thank you for point it out :thumbleft: , it's a nice addition! My Sigma is not in the best cosmetic conditions, well it's not bad but it looks definitely used, there's somethi...

Just received a Korg Sigma for free!!

It's not my intention to spam the forum but I feel like a baby on his birthday :birthday: A very good and generous friend of mine has just gave me a vintage Korg Sigma for free, well I know that it's not the most sought after synth and that it's a very limited machine, but I always thought that thin...

Re: Behringer Deep Mind 12

Thank you for posting your impressions, it's been some time now that I've been thinking about purchasing my first poly analog synth, and DM12 is on my radar, together with the Prophet Rev2...actually I think that the Rev2 will suit better my needs, much more complex and interesting synth than the DM...

Re: Have you noticed Roland D50 being so expensive?

Programming them is an incredible chore. I don't have the D50, I have the VC1 card for the V Synth instead, and I have to say that editing is easier, all the parameters are clearly visible from the large display of the V Synth, the lay out is "graphical" and intuitive...and it's also possible to tw...

Re: Synths and You (the collection of opinions)

1) The synth that made you want to play music: At the time I didn't know much about synths, but I started with a Korg M1, I needed a workstation because my first band in the early 90s was a duo, the other guy was a guitarist so I needed a workstation with a sequencer and lots of sounds, from real i...

Re: DSI Announces New REV2 16-Voice Analog Poly Synth!

Even though I'd have liked a 8/16 voices Poly Evolver, or an high pass filter with the LPF on this Rev2, I have to say that this is an exciting news for me, maybe more exciting than the DeepMind news (more waveforms on OSC2 are an important factor for me) it looks like the "perfect" all round analog...

Re: Full sized Korg Arp Odyssey

Way too expensive for a mono synth, no matter the pedigree. Why the need to double the price only to increase the size 20%? Some more infos...it looks like it will be assembled in the USA and it's a limited edition, I've read in another forum that only 150 unit will be "reserved" to the USA, maybe ...

Re: Full sized Korg Arp Odyssey

Too expensive. Almost twice the price of the slim keys version. For this money I'd rather take Moog Sub 37 and have a sequencer, lots of modulation and memory. I agree with you. I have the module, paid 550 euros, the LFO repeat triggering issue has been solved and I can control the pitch via midi w...

Roger Powell patches and tutorial: Arp Odyssey

Well, not sure if it has been posted before (I made a research and no results), anyway I think it's interesting, a piece of synth history!!, found this video while looking on Youtube for something interesting and "inspirational" for my new piece of toy (Korg Arp Odyssey Module): https://www.youtube....

Re: Roland JDXA, any thoughts?

Suddenly the JX-XA is gone up in my estimation ( I was the one who shouted loudly on RolandClan about the dire PWM Aliasing problem on the JP80 and indeed therefore probably on this instrument too because its digital synth is the 'Supernatural Synth' found on the Jupiter 80) - and the 4-octaves has...

Re: Roland JDXA, any thoughts?

As a single parent whose 9 year-old has activities every weekday evening, I haven't had much time to play with my toys for the past couple of years. I totally understand you, but that's why I made my 11 years old son the guitarist/singer of my/our band (the band is me and my son  , our only go...
