Re: Your latest musical purchase

Incredible ambient machine. Hologram Electronics Infinite Jets. http://i65.tinypic.com/25ow2g7.jpg Knobs makes one buy a lot of those pedals eventually :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBjudP59rmM Nice! How do you like it? This sits close to the top of the wishlist for consideration between The I...

Re: Is this a hoax?

Yeah, I think the link just got taken down. There was another video I can't find anymore of this sequencer being presented at a convention, some of the comments suggested that it was a hoax, just a box with LED's in it, because functionality was never demonstrated. I have had my fingers crossed beca...

Re: Your latest musical purchase

Scored a Korg DW8000 with some dead keys for $60! Plugged in a midi controller and good to go. As soon as I can I am going to buy one or two Behringer BRC2000's to get under the hood the DW8000, my Kawai I and III, and I'd like to give the Volca FM a try with one as well. I happen to really like DW8...

Re: Roland RS-505 Paraphonic Strings - Modern Equivalent?

I have been looking at the Waldorf Streichfett myself for awhile now ( kind of lusting). I haven't seen a video that shows it having a split function yet... i.e. The strings in the upper register and with a synth bass sound in the lower register, I would be very interested to hear from someone that...

Re: Ensoniq ESQ-1/SQ-80 vs Kawai K3 vs Waldorf Microwave 1

I have a Kawai 3, it is very easy to use and I like the sounds on it very much, it definitely has a sort of dark crunch and can give you that sort of John Carpenter type of vibe. It is extremely easy to program, everything is layed out right in front of you, if you have any synth experience at all i...

Re: What synth have you bought more than one of?

Never with expensive gear but I do now have two Arturia Microbrute's, accidentally bid on two on eBay like a dummy.... Hahahahaha. Thought about stacking them but will probably sell one soon. Had two Kaos pads for awhile, which was kind of fun sampling back and forth off each other but gave one to a...

Re: Roland RS-505 Paraphonic Strings - Modern Equivalent?

I don't know... My SK-20 cost me $99 USD... I think a lot of people are ditching their synths that weigh 80 LBS or more these days for a song, HOWEVER, not sure why the OP is looking for something still in production, so not pushing the issue. I have been looking at the Waldorf Streichfett myself fo...

I have one of these, and while it is not currently in production, I believe they can be purchased for very little money

Re: Manual for Roland TR-707

Ok... I have been looking for the manual exclusively on my android tablet, which I 'cracked' years ago and have not updated, while it has had no problems with any other PDF's recently, it apparently, is not opening the PDF's for the 707, because, after reading the posts above from you guys I used my...

Re: Synth for 8/16 bit sounds.

I guess I'll buy Nexus, Komplete and Arturia Analog Lab with a midi controller (one that I could also attach to an iPad). Re: Synth for 8/16 bit sounds.

The suggestion I posted earlier in this thread was meant only as a "taste/interface test" for the OP, to see if they really wanted to go in the direction they seemed to have a murky preconception of, before they spent a lot of money buying gear, that they may or may not have not been sure that they ...

Not sure that you would want a Nexus, as android still has not solved their latency issues, unfortunately.
