Re: JX-8P Saving weirdness (battery?)

... it's like the nature of some sysex files have some kind of info in them that takes that extra step to not just load, but save as well. Patches are transmitted to the edit buffer and stored with additional sysex messages. CLUB-GRND code F0 41 34 00 21 20 01 00 10 02 F7 will write the patch to I-...

I just verified if syx banks could be loaded into PG-8X VST.

Re: changing FM index on the fly? foot control?

A more glassy sound http://picosong.com/HtPH
Also a chorus or leslie effect is essential.

Re: changing FM index on the fly? foot control?

The first notes played on a SY77 http://picosong.com/HB72
Key velocity changes the index, left hand for pitch bend.
TX7 factory preset E.GUITAR is a good starting point.

You'll need a good quality midi interface for sysex transfer:

Re: Why are patches missing on my Proteus 2?

PR2_ON, PR2_TO_P, PR2_MAP and PR2_USER converted to a single midi file PR2_FACTORY.
This bank will overwrite the current user patch locations 64 through 127!
Use your sequencer software to transmit this file:

Re: E-MU Vintage Keys, need upgrad (plus) sysex restore

Indeed, these are the VK and VK plus RAM patches, 2 x 256.
There's a list in the manual: 0-255 RAM / 256-511 ROM.
Did you already try the factory reset procedure?

Re: E-MU Vintage Keys, need upgrad (plus) sysex restore

Here are the .mid files with a 100ms delay after each patch to avoid buffer overflow.
You can play these with any sequencer, it takes about 1 minute to load 256 patches.

Re: Changing MIDI volume

So can MIDI-OX map across a configurable range, namely 0~99? In data mapping, you can assign any value, set a fix velocity or invert values: Input NoteOn Value 2 - Min 1 Max 127 | Output NoteOn Value 2 - Min 1 Max 99 Input NoteOn Value 2 - Min 1 Max 127 | Output NoteOn Value 2 - Min 64 Max 64 Input...

MIDI-OX could solve this issue by mapping microkorg velocity values 1~127 to 1~64:
