Re: Custom-built multi-bank Roland M-256/M-512 memory cards

I am a self-confessed electronics dufus... I am still amazed that if you flick a light switch, the lights in my room come on :? I just am completely blown away / amazed / in awe / gob-smacked that there are such creative and intelligent people out there that can calmly sit down and design something ...

Re: Question for Roland JD-800 owners

Hi pflosi I've had the synth professionally serviced and cleaned by a tech ... he re-soldered a few dodgy solder joins and cleaned the faders really well ... at least now it's playable whereas before, the synth would start self editing as soon as you turned it on. He told me that the self-editing wo...

Question for Roland JD-800 owners

Hi all just wondering if anyone of you who own a JD800 have the self-editing gremlin and whether you have been able to find replacement slide potentiometers for the synth? I've tried endless electronic part retailers and synth repairers and have drawn a big zero ... no one can suggest a new replacem...

Just a couple of ditties...

Hi all, Just a couple of tracks that have been keeping me busy after a very, very long time of chronic writer's block (sprinkled with a liberal splash of apathy...) So - for your listening pleasure (or dis-pleasure, as the case may be), please find a link to a newbie https://soundcloud.com/un-sound/...

I'll buy a card too ... have to spoil my JD800 in some way.

Excellent work and continued good luck with this project :-)

Re: Roland JX-3P issue? - jumpy slider

I have just fixed up my JD-800 which is famous for its very dodgy and jumpy sliders... I opened her up and used a can of compressed air to remove most of the dust and fluff and then used Deoxit F5 for faders to give it a good clean.... spray it on and work the slider back and forth for a bit and flu...

Re: How often do you use hardware live, if at all?

In the bad old days, I only played hardware keyboards but these days I might supplement that with Ableton Live... not for every song but occasionally. I'll use Ableton for sequences and maybe some other keyboard parts (pads or fills - depending on what I want to play myself) ... the drummer's pretty...

Re: Richard Tandy

I'm giving Time a listen right now, never heard it before. Only heard their greatest hits songs. It's nice, very spacey. Which is natural for the theme of the album. What an amazing keyboard player from an equally amazing band.... I hope that you listen to lots more ELO other than their greatest hi...
