Re: What synth makes this sound?

I found out what it was. My Yamaha PSR e443 has the exact same sound when I turn the resonance all the way up on the Charang Lead patch. Was there any Yamaha keyboards in the early 90's with a resonance knob and XGLite MIDI? Oh. I see the resemblance to the wickedly evil Nick Jr. character. I think ...

Re: What synths were used in these songs?

Also: what was used on Bucks Fizz Land of Make Believe? Especially the octave synth.
What Korg polysynths were around in 1984 (I saw a song from then which was my first time seeing a Korg from the 80s being played live other than a M1

Do you think Charang is 'Griiittar" from the D-50.

Re: READ THIS if you're looking at choosing a new synth!

1. What is you budget? Unsure. But probably in the 600>__ range. 2. What are you into? (music, sounds, etc) 80's synth music (Duran Duran) and anything with weird sounding synthesizers and foreign music. 3. Live, studio, or personal home use? Personal home. 4. Level of synth expertise? (beginner, in...

Re: Top 10 list, need help

Casio SA-76. It has a funky "ethnic tune". Don't forget the Hing Hon EK-001. Or the Casiotone 201 and it's epic multipulse square wave sounds. Or the SA-1 and its duophonic capabilities. Or the MT-100 and its many mods. Or the Casio MT-40 (Sleng Teng bassline) used to create the Mario theme (I think...

Re: What synths were used in these songs?

Oh, I must be thinking about the monosynth line from the Pro Soloist (not an Odyssey, even though the sound is close to sounds I have heard on an ARP).

General Midi sound questions?

In General Midi standard, about the sounds What synths are Synth Brass 1 and Synth Brass 2 from originally? What is the origin of the Charang preset? The Motif data list calls it digital (I do not have a Motif (just Casios and a LK1161 Radio Shack keyboard for making drum beats because it has intere...

What synths were used in these songs?

Synths that were used in these songs? Material Girl: sine/triangle wave pad, synth bleep, guitarish sawtooth lead. Edit: apparently it was a bass guitar for the bass. The sawtooth lead is a synth with a modulation wheel or lever or button. King Tut: pulse wave portamento lead. Holiday: duophonic-sou...

Re: Is this a Prophet 5 or a Roland synth? (Paul Hardcastle)

The brass in my opinion sounds like some kind of Roland synth. Jupiter most likely. And I know that synth is a Prophet 5 for the oscillator sync lead (I think it is a modified Sync II patch).

Re: SixTrak

What kind of sound are you looking for. I only have Casios, but the Six Trak I heard on SynthMania.com has a good brass, bass, rezo lead synth, Golliwog Jr. (a funny synth preset) and a lot of unison synths. What other synths do you have that could go along with this?

Re: What synth makes this sound?

It is polyphonic, and I am thinking if it is not a Juno, it sounded a little like a Moog, but it probably isn't.
Edit: maybe an ARP something, or one of those really obscure USSR synths

I think the sound is a Juno 106/60.
