Re: Dead Or Alive - Misty Circles Synth Techniques

SAW used
Fairlight with a lot of custom patches
DX7 with custom patches
MKS-80 Super Jupiter
JX-8P
Alpha Juno-2
By then, they had the D-50.

Thank you for the info I will check that plugin out!
Yeah, it’s an emulation of the original Pro-Soloist.

Re: Dead Or Alive - Misty Circles Synth Techniques

PPG most likely. Or a DX7. They were produced by SAW, who used the DX7 and Fairlight as well. Maybe Sytrus will have something similar.

Re: Hear this beautiful PWM sound on this 80's song

Have you tried that on your Juno-106? Sounds like one, or another Roland synth. Maybe even a Polysix? When was this released? Maybe it’s even a Jupiter-6, Prophet-5, or Oberheim OB-Xa. A lot of the Vietnamese diaspora Music productions like Asia Entertainment back in the day used Juno and Jupiter an...

Why is FM suspicious? Unless it stands for Prof. Fred Moriarty.
I meant some sound like they come from an FM chip, others sound like Sound Canvas samples.

Re: Which synth is this? Maybe a Virus?

I don’t know why, but I’m thinking JV-1080, Nord Lead 2, and MC-303/909 were used in the song. Those were 3 synths used in this kind of music in the early 2000’s. I think JV-1080 is likely, it has that organ bass sound, and MS-2000 has it as a preset. Edit: on the studio recording, i here definitely...

Re: Is Volca Beats/Bass/Keys/FM and D-05 good?

I think the SR-16 will have more options, and Minilogue has some sounds the Volca doesn’t do. I’m looking at the D-05 for the presets (I wish to still use the default D-50 presets and the D-50 PN-D50-ROM1-4 and the new D-05 presets in my music, even if it risks sounding somewhat dated, but some D-50...

Re: Synths and You (the collection of opinions)

1) The synth that made you want to play music: JV-1080 in the 90’s TV shows and music I grew up with 2) Your first synth: Yamaha MX49 (for ROMpler), Korg Minilogue (for analog synth) 3) The synth that has surprised you most: Minilogue. It’s better than I thought it would be. 4) The synth that has di...

Re: Now looking at D-05/Keystep/SR-16/Behringer Model D

I figured since I have Dexed and the Minilogue, the Keys and FM are not worth it. And I’m looking for a better drum machine, so I’m looking at the SR-16, since it’s been made for almost 30 years (since 1989) and is still being produced. Also, D-05 and Keystep are what I am still looking at, and Behr...

Is Volca Beats/Bass/Keys/FM and D-05 good?

The title says it all. I’m looking at the Roland D-05 and those specific Korg Volcas. How will it work for creating my own music? I may be getting these to have a hardware setup.
